test drove '05 Mustang gt

I was just curious what an heft 8 cylinder 300hp/320 torque engine felt like, and how much faster it is compared to the 8.

Its nice looking for a mustang, by far the best looking in quite some time....but i must say i was expecting so much more from the "muscle" car but i feel i didnt get it. It wasnt terribly fast like i was expecting and actually made me glad i have my 8 (and appreciate it more if possible). So with that said it didnt have too much going for it on the inside, the interior just dosnt compare to the 8 and the shifting wasnt as smooth (or i wasnt used to it).

Ford definitly made vast improvments with it though.

i dont know...thought i'd share

i have been a big time stang fan for a long time. the biggest thing the mustang has is torque. the majority of the stang owners out there prefer torque over HP any day..i know i did when i owned them. i havent driven the new stang but i had a 96 cobra and i can feel the power difference in comparison to my old 5.0. if u want to see some power, drive an 03/04 cobra or test drive the new GT500 when it comes out in the future.

..... except that the interior is shitty (especially the plasticy doors inside), the rear seats are cramped, the v6 is useless, the car depreciates rather quickly..... and its freaking american.... i think the only good thing is the upgraded sound system

I was looking into new Mustang GT very seriosly. After spending 2-3 hours checking out several of them, I checked out RX-8 and feel very big difference. It felt a little bit slower but the handling, feel, precise shifting, smooth engine, and sexy looks were simply not comparable to Mustang. In the exhaust sound, I would prefer Mustang, on the other hand. Nothing is better for the ears than a roaring V8...

I'm actually impressed with the new mustang. It's light years ahead of their previous offerings. I test drove one and also didn't feel like it was overwhelmingly fast, but I'm sure it can be for little money.

lol.. umm ....oook

The 2005 Mustang really impresed the **** out of me.... the first Mustang I actually considered.

LOL its funny though.. there seems to be some sort of a "rift" on the mustang forum between some of the 2005 owners and some of the prior year owners (yes the new stang is THAT different)..

the Prior year owners are like "its nice aight...it aint the best thin since sliced bread" (which is true)

The the 05 owners are like "awww stop being a cry baby, its better and you know it" (which is true)

LMAO

no no, yeah-erns!

I don't know what I am going to do. I have been talking with some mazda dealers and I can swing it, but I have got a real hard on for a 964 turbo I drove a little while ago. The guy who owns it is a family freind and he is thinking about selling and would do it for a little more than an 8 to me. I just need to look into insurance and stuff like that. I might just get a Mazda 3 until I graduate. Lots to think about for sure.

I'd go with a 3 if I could go back in time. This car is killing me! (financially). Good luck with your decision! Post some pics when you get the new car :D

The new mustang is actually growing on me- especially in that green color. Unfortunately, the only GT I know is an auto, so I'm not even going to ask to drive it. Maybe some day, though...
