People in this thread confuse the hell out of me, referring to it as just genesis without the coupe part when clearly talking about the coupe. Maybe I should have looked at pictures and not just text.

I get 20.1 mpg with 65%/35% city/highway miles with my 6MT. And I do not lug it.
When I thought of replacing the 8 (with what were all more boring cars after about 18 test drives over 2 years), I calculated that I would need to find a car that averaged 32 mpg overall to see anything close to a significant yearly savings based on miles driven annually.
Suffice it to say that there aren't too many non-hybrid, non-diesel, non econo-penalty-box cars that can manage 32 mpg overall or better.
With 14k miles driven annually, even the new 2012 Passat TDI, which some claim gets about 34 mpg overall (while others aren't seeing this, at least not with not broken in motors), would only save me about $300 a year in fuel, given that diesel has about a 45 cent premium versus gasoline where i live.
And VW is charging MSRP or close to it for the TDI Passat, which adds about a 5 thousand dollar premium over a similarly equipped gasoline model, in terms of real world pricing.
It makes no sense (I guess it might make sense for someone that drives 30,000 miles per year over 8 or 10 years).

Just adding my .02 here. Before I got my 8, I drove three Genesis coupes, all new. All were the 3.8 Track. I liked the torque (since I had a Spd6 at the time), but it road like crap, and all three rattled. None had more than 100 miles on them. Handling was pretty good, the nav system actually works (as compared to Mazda crap), but the seats were hard, but with good side bolsters. Steering was so-so. Like most Korean cars, they haven't learned how to tune suspension and steering. Yet. Give them a few more years.
There's a lot of content for the money, but the ride and rattles made me decide on the 8.

I would've kept the 8. Yeah the genesis might get a bit better gas mileage but you picked the 3.8L not the 2.0 and what about the money you had to pay from the trade-in? Isn't a genesis around $10,000-$15,000 more than an '04 Rx-8? Assuming you gain 3 mpg, that's about a $7 a tank savings, not sure how much you drive but I believe that's gonna take a long time to make up.

So far so good , it is quicker then Mazda obviously but I do miss red line at 9k rpm :/ Its actually handles pretty good too. I think it was the best choice from current sport cars range for performance and value.

It's so clear, I can even tell they're cirrocumulus clouds. How you like me now?

Chill....
I'm sure you're correct, even if the red on the hood looks 'off' a little compared to the red on the quarter panels.

Uhhhh.... I think not.

Maybe the 2012... but the 2013 2.0T will be closer since it gets bumped up to 274hp / 275lb-ft.
They're going to sell those 2012's at a deep discount once the refreshed 2013's get on the lot. I think I would have waited, but that's just me.
