Torque

I had a chance to ride in a Tiburon and it had so much torque. It made me nervous in the twisties. I actually like the RX-8's low torque. It makes me feel more comfortable when driving. :D

Are you sure it wasn't just the Tib's sub-standard handling that made you nervous "in the twisties"?

I can't say as I've ever heard the words "so much torque" and "Tiburon" in the same sentence before :D

I guess I meant non-linear torque.

Hmmm, there's a huge difference of 22 lb-ft of torque between the two, and the 8 bests the hyundai by 66 in the horsepower department... I'm voting for the sub par handling as the reason it was scary in the twisties. Keep in mind the 8 also pretty much has all 159 lb-ft from the bottom of the rpm band all the way to the top.

Yeah I agree... you can hardly touch the accelerator on the Tiburon without breaking those front tires loose and veering off the road. The thing is an absolute beast!

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

And as others have pointed out that has little to do with it having lower torque, especially not 22lb-ft.

I think he was going for a touch of sarcasm mixed with passive agression?
At least I hope so.
