Turn-key or restomod?
Hey guys its me finally back. Got done with basic and am almost done with my 9 month tech schools (thank God). Anyway drove the RX8 for the first time in 7 months and it was a blast. But things have changed while I've been gone. For example:
Dad sold his C5 coupe and now has a C6 Z06 with a bigger cam and long tubes (estimated 620 bhp).
His twin trashed the LS6 in his C5 Z06 and his 440 ci stroker is built and ready to be installed. Dyno'd at 665 bhp all motor.
My cousin had to sell his 450+ bhp Trans Am but is joining the Army soon so I doubt he'll be out of the horsepower game for long.
Basically all of this has given me the itch again to build a muscle machine from hell. Not a drag-only car that has one seat in it and a cam so big it stalls every block, but a street-rod with killer suspension and brakes, nice interior and stereo, and just happens to tear up the 1320. First things first, restomod or turn-key package?
Turn-key: LS2 GTO, maybe the new Camaro SS, or a base C6. All used of course.
Restomod: Old Chevelle, GTO, or Firebird/Camaro. Storage while being built is not a problem.
Obviously I'm partial to GM products. My goal is to have the car by the end of my contract (just over 5 years away) with a budget of between $25K and $30K. Right now Yearone.com is my best friend but if you guys have any other websites or advice that'd be awesome.
