USAToday/MotorWeek/Cars.com Sub-Compact Shootout

I have sent the following letter to all 3 companies in response.

How is the Honda Fit the winner and Mazda 2 not even involved?

Sure you could say that the Mazda doesn't fit under the price cap of $16,000. But you can actually buy a Mazda 2 for cheaper than the Fit.

Honda's own Page for the Fit lists the price for the base auto as $16,745 including destination charge. That would seem to disqualify the Fit.

The MSRP of the Mazda 2 with AT is $ 16,165. Yes , also over the cap but only slightly when compared to the Fit. And why limit the choice to only the at/slush box? The Mazda 2 with the MT is a better car than with the AT and its cheaper by almost a thousand dollars.

I understand that its impossible to go back and include the Mazda 2 after the fact but at the least your 3 companies should acknowledge that the Fit did not fall under the price cap and have it disqualified.

Two comparisons from rival publications that show how well the 2 with a manual transmission would have fared if included.
