Videos of the 787B doing damage at Goodwood Festival of Speed

The 787B has really been stretching its legs after the full restore. Even saw a pic of it with new battle scars on the side sill.

Crowd seems quite pleased from the launch and flame at 0:29 :

I hope that all this 787b media means that Mazda still didn't give up.

On a sidenote, the r26b sounds like heaven on earth.

Definitely nice to see this showing up more!

A thought just popped in my head though... Did they plan on having it show up this often or is it taking the place of the Furai since it died? I'd imagine they still had a need for a "PR car" and with the Furai gone, this seems like the best thing to fill that gap.

Or the last hooray
Could be the death spiral

I'm not giving up my rotary .... they'll have to rip it from the clutches of my dying grasp

I believe they had another 787 (or 767 - not the original #55) at the stands also. They actually changed the livery on it to the exact copy of the #55.

I seriously doubt it. Mazda has had the 16X info on their website for years, and have increased the rotary visibility in marketing, and public relations in the last year. It would signify failure to not only Mazda, but Japan to kill the rotary. Raising the profile of the death wouldn't make much sense. IMO, it all but confirms we'll see something new soon (Tokyo Auto Show?).

On a side note, my 8 had a compression issue and getting the motor replaced under warranty. After driving the loaner, a 4 cyl Mazda6, around for the last week, there's absolutely no ******* way I'm getting rid of my 8. None. People can bitch about the reliability of Mazda and the Rotary all they want, but the truth is you never truly realize just how much a manual transmission rotary becomes part of your soul until you go without it.

Could not agree more....

I just LOVE driving my 8...it is SUPERB, I just can not fault it..I really cant..
As for those who say it has not got enough power, I say BULLSHIT!...

Lose some weight or useless stuff in your trunk that you are carrying around, use high octane gas and enjoy!. WONDERFUL WONDERFUL...

I have driven literally hundreds of cars being in the trade and NONE impress me as much, unless you go to VERY expensive German stuff...which you can stick it up where the sun don't shine!..

Try $1,200 pounds for one coil on a 600SL Mercedes installed, that is about $2000.00 for ONE COIL!...ask Clarkson from Top Gear.

My MX-5 is a VERY close Second...for a banger, that is all that lets it down.

Yeah the one on the stand is without an engine! They had my Cosmo Sport on the stand too, was a great weekend for rotorheads. I have some photo's and video of the 787 which I'll post up soon. Phil
