Caught on Tape: Troopers Ticket VW Drivers
(7/21/04 10:41 p.m.) A group of Volkswagen enthusiasts on their way to a VW show in New Jersey last week made the mistake of bringing along a video camera on their road trip. A tape seized by Massachusetts state troopers shows the group of 9 drivers racing and weaving in and out of a construction zone along I-290. The drivers were later ticketed.

Ok so i just watched that and even tho it might not have been legal to seize it, those guys are just stupid. What the heck are you thinking weaving in and out of cones in a construction zone. What pisses me off more is that there is going to be disdain for car clubs doing runs and whatnot (namely us).
And none of those VWs were even nice looking......

The officer probably just asked if he could see the video. Once he found evidence of a crime he could then legally seize it. Officers in our area routinely ask drivers (especially young drivers) if they can search their car when pulled over for a traffic stop. Not knowing they can refuse, they give permission for the search.
