japanparts.com got me my amemiya body parts in 6 days. that was impressive. it arrived via air to the airport here, so it did not have the normal delay in customs other shipping methods tend to have.
alot of the time depends on the shipping method used. if its coming via crate to LA... doesnt matter who you use, everyone deals with the same shipping woes at customs.
i think the complaints coming from JonDemand customers have more to do with the customers misunderstanding on the process of ordering JDM parts. they may want to take some steps in educating their customers before putting orders in. then again - im not one to tell them how to run their business. they are good people and are just getting a bad name because of other peoples ignorance on the matter.

Seafreight to Long Beach typically adds 21 days with clearance, and then 7 days to any 48 States address thereafter
There are no "clearance woes" if you've got all your paperwork in order
Soo: a Body Kit taking 21-28 days by Air, we will quote 8-10 weeks by Sea to your door in the 48 States and know that's completely achievable; I believe we quoted you 10-15 days delivery for your RE Amemiya parts and delivered in 6 days to Honolulu Airport. Result: Happy customer, No disappointments
And that's what I'd suggest separates the Professionals from the "Others"
When you order from Japanparts.com, you take advantage of the fact we have been exporting Parts and accessories out of Japan since 1996; we know our Suppliers, we know our Shippers, + our Insurers and we have made *all* the mistakes already
(None of these ever at the expense of our clients; I might add )
Take care, and welcome back anytime!
Best
