Well sideswipe is the vette transformer :(
i would of thought the vette former would of been hot rod. hate to see one of my favorite transformer growing up (due to contach being my favorite lamo ever ) be switched to a vette.
now dont get me wrong, 67 vette is my 2nd favorite car, but hard seeing sideswipe as a concept vette.
guess that is what happens when a car company pretty much buys their way into the movies. any how enjoy the video.
btw what was the yellow contach lambo transformer name? was it sun something. cant remember, oh well enjoy

The identity of the "mystery" Transformer seen in spy photos on the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has finally been revealed. The vehicle, which will play the character "Sideswipe" in the movie, is a design study called the Corvette Sting Ray, according to GM Global Design Vice President Ed Welburn.
Welburn introduced the car at the Chicago Auto Show. The Sting Ray concept hasn't been seen before now. It's an extreme styling exercise that combines elements of the current Corvette and the classic 1963 split-window Corvette Sting Ray. Extravagant, shoulder-like fender flares and extreme curves make this car into what Welburn calls "an exercise in exploration for the Corvette." The influence of the '63 model can be seen in the Sting Ray's split rear window and rear silhouette, as well as in the update of the stylized Sting Ray badge.
Since photos from the Transformers set have been leaking onto the web, the Sting Ray concept has created quite a bit of stir as auto spies and Corvette fans alike traded rumors as to what the vehicle might be.
Alas, there are no plans for production. Transformers director Michael Bay reportedly toured the GM styling studios looking for new characters for the movie, saw the Sting Ray concept, and was so impressed by the car that he created a character for it, just to get the car into the movie.

The name your looking for the yellow lambo is Sunstreaker. I had both of the lambo twins when growing up.
Here some 1980's trivia, what was the name of the third Lambo Autobot?
And here is a hard one, this autobot was only shown once , he was a Mazda Rx-7, what was his name?
I'll give you a hint, his name doesn't fit his image because this "part" is not in a rotary car.

Michael Bay is a turd to be honest. Annoying to just see crappy American dungs of steel in the movie, not enough variation.
Also the lack of original Megatron voice annoyed because they all sound so similar now. With the fast cuts it's impossible to know who's who. Also he must have misunderstood the original cartoons voices if he couldn't see that Megatron and Starscream should keep the deceptive, sneaky tones to their voices that Welker brought them.

Personally, I like the look of this concept vette, but who cares if it won't go into production.
I'm betting GM pays a pretty penny to have their entire vehicle line-up featured. I know I'll be corrected, but I think the only Ford was the decepticon cop car (mustang)
I agree though, if you're going to have a corvette, might as well make it one people will be able to purchase after watching the movie. I know when the Camaro finally comes out it'll be old old news - it'll be time for a redesign after the first model year.
Also, just to get some discussion, what production do you feel hot-rod would be? I'm preparing for flames, but what car is front engined, no rear window, huge front windshield and a 5x10 ft rear wing? (taken from the 1980s cartoon movie)

The 80's Hot Rod was a late 80s' chopped Trans Am for the front with a custom made rear end with a 5 foot wing. I guess using a WS6 Trans Am would be out of the question, but it could have worked.
Side swipe should have been a Lambo Merciago, they should have stuck to the story as he was originally a Countach LP500S. The Mercciago would have been a fresh rendition of the 80's lambo car.

it would of been cool to see all the old school transfomres using the models of the current. such as Bluestreak the 280z , becoming the 370z etc. or see him in a 1970 style z. man that would of been cool, and seeing bumble bee as a 69 camamro etc. well enough of me sounding like a tranformer geek. cant wait to see the movie.
