West Vs. East

Just wondering...

For those who have been to west coast and east coast car show, I was wondering what the real difference was. I along with some of the guys have been thinking about showing at East Coast shows.

What do you think.

Hey Kel,

I'm sure you have already told others what you have many times before, but care to explain what you have on?

as far as i'm concered...west coast shows are FAR better when it comes to cars...ie..more expensive and "higher class" cars...

the west coast has a lot more "rice" i suppose, and most the cars are lowrider trucks and civics..(please nobody on the east coast kill me..i live here too!)

i dont agree
west coast civic's,honda vehicle's are nothing simple
they try just about everything and accomplish it.

east coast benz's,audi's,g wagons, bmw, basically any suv
are drastic out here.

but overall i think west takes it

i was visiting san diego a year or so ago, and i must say, they have some real cars there. Not just the civic with the exhaust can on it like i see around here, but some really nice paint jobs, cars obviously running large turboes NOs and professionally lowered and upgraded suspension...and i think i know why...every single road there was like 4 lanes wide, straight and long! hehe

Its a LONG way to the East Coast from Cal. Take the money it would cost you to get there and put it into YOUR car

west or east ---this whole country has some bomb *** cars

I have never been to east coast shows so I can't say too much

but I have been in and at A LOT of west coast shows in the last five years
On the west coast things have got bigger and better

civic, accord, intergra, crx and so on are almost all gone

within the last year the cars are all mecedez, bmw, audi, 350z, s2000, lambo, ferrari

The competition is so high now

I've been involved with the industry for about 7+ years now, originally having a brother in a team to currently having friends and running my own site in the Industry.

I always enjoyed taking a look at pictures from different areas of the globe and agree that it's a bit different. From the pictures I've seen, I guess it's more intensive out here. There are more shops, more vendors, and way more teams in LA, CA.

I can't count a day where I do see a car without the stickered Vinyl’s on the windows. Our top Teams here in my opinion would be a Toss up between Hybrid, Illmatic, Garage Life, and Art n Motion use to be great as well.

I’ve seen many teams start rejecting the typical civics and if there any, they’re all JDM’d out with engine, wheels, system, (NOS of course), custom paint, etc. It’s far past the days of show and no go, these days: it’s so common to have both done up to max and still not win. I know many people in the scene with great cars but since they have a Honda or civic, they’ll never beat those who drop 2 to 3 times the actual cost of the car when they bought it.

And like Mike said, 350z are almost becoming common, lambo doors, mercedez, bmw’s and s2000’s.

This year was the first real year where Hot Import Nights -LA required each team/car to have a picture submitted with their specs in order to have their car approved or rejected. According to one of the guys from Vision Entertainment, this years HIN LA saw nearly 30,000 people.

Mike, When’s the next show your attending? Also, if your looking into joining a team, perhaps I can help. Let me know.

I'm from Cali, but I've noticed alot of clean JDM style vehicles coming out of Texas and Florida. But Cali still takes the cake. It's pretty much where the whole "import scene" started in North America. All trends, good or rice, start in Cali.

lol, I get the idea of where you're going..it's about 2 hours south of me. The names of city's in FL are dumb..so the misspellings and all is only understandable..even i screw them up all the time, and i've lived here my whole life! There are a few guys in the tampa/st.pete area that have RX8's that you may run into...They're all very very nice.
