What car did you get to replace your RX8?
Not negative thread in any way, but the 8 has been around for almost 7 years and curious to see what people are getting after the 8. People get the car then move on for many reason. Be it for financial, more power, more luxury, more traditional sports car, a convertible, more reliability, more space, lease expiring, change of preference, bad service experience, etc.
Lots of people stop and say bye before they leave and others stick around on the forum after selling the 8. Something in one place would be nice.
What did you get to take its place?
Reason for selling the RX8 for above vehicle?

My next car is going to be a little bit more spacious and have a little more power behind it. I'm sure I'll miss the great balance and handling that the 8 has, but I'd also like something a little different for a while. After that, I'm not sure if I'll find myself wanting to get back into an 8, but by that time, we should know whether the new RX car is going to be out/is out and that might be an option.

Replaced 2004 RX-8 with a 2010 VW JSW TDI (turbo diesel) and a motorcycle. Going to get a second motorcycle shortly
I've abandoned any plans for sports cars in trade for much faster bikes. The cage gets 35 mpg city, and while I haven't had any highway trips yet, most people seem to get mid 40's or higher.

I've got a 2009 Jetta TDI Wagon.. Usually get mid to upper 30's driving in town and upper 40's on the highway. The worst part about this thing is all the torque. Traction is very hard to come by, especially if you have snow tires on...
I miss my old 2004 RX8 tho, so I'll be picking up an R3 while they are cheap.
What kinda motorcycle are you riding? I've got a KTM Duke, perfect thing for riding like an ***!

ATL-GP, good question. I had to do a double take myself. Clutch peddle is never as long as the brake or throttle.
Woops, can't say throttle since it doesn't have one. They call it a go peddle.
Jedi, it gets 3x the fuel economy as the RX-8. That's the reason why one buys a TDI. It also has more room inside than most SUVs, which is why I got the sportwagon. There is also something to be said about a vehicle where people complain that their clutch only lasted 200,000 miles, or that their paint is starting to look bad at 300,000 miles.
I can always buy another sport car. I am tired of buying underdogs though. Having to explain why something is good gets old after a while. The RX-8 was a looker. The VW JSW is a commuter.

Haven't yet. I just can't bring myself around to do it. I have test driven a few cars, including the BMW 135, the new Camaro SS, and even a WRX STi... but I just don't consider them as fun to drive or as enjoyable on a daily basis. Right now, enjoying life sans car payments.
