What does $465,650 USD gets you?

Not sure on the price tag but I guess I'm a classic kind of guy
speaking of sold, when I was photographing this beauty(?, I'm undecided :/) I was notified it was purchased and to ask for assistance to open/close doors... Who the hell in LA spent that kind of money?
side note - I loved being able to get in with the cars avoiding the crowd at the LA auto show. Took pics of lambos, saleens, you name it. photographylove

I love the SLR. I did get to see one a few months back. It's a work of art and definitely worth the name McLaren. That car is VERY close in speed to the Enzo which is far uglier and the Porsche GT which is an admittedly awesome and beautiful car. A professional driver could drive the Enzo and GT a little faster around a track but an average driver would be faster in an SLR and in the rain it would walk away from both of them regardless of who was driving. Give the car some credit. And it can do all of that without being a stripped down shell of a car. It still has all the creature comforts and it's up at the same level as the world's best cars. That says alot as you don't need to have an uncomfortable race car to have that type of performance. It is definitely one of my favorite cars and I'd have no problem owning one. I personally think it is one of the most beautiful cars out there right now. It doesn't look like every other stereotypical copycat supercar. My biggest complaint about it is that it's V8 actually sounds like a throaty American built V8 which is to say the least dull and boring. I don't care how powerful they are. They sound like crap. It lacks the sonorous music that the Ferrari engines have or the Carerra GT has. If it sounded more like those, I'd have no problems with it at all.

The Bugatti is not going production is it?
Top Gear mentioned that it was just to prove it could be done.
5million was spent to create the Veyron. Course every prototype costs more than the production vehicle.
Don't forget to set some money aside for maintenance, insurance bond, tax and license.

From Autoweek:
Although the $1.2 million price is breathtaking, Bugatti is supremely confident it can find 50 customers per year for the EB16.4 Veyron. Employees at the company’s showcase factory on the outskirts of Molsheim in France are expected to produce no more than 300 cars in total during the next six years. North America is already proving a lucrative market, with the majority of the 16 confirmed orders to date.

Can you even insure a car like the veyron or slr or enzo with a normal car company? Talk about premiums and paying taxes on that would also be fun. For G-d sakes! Just buy a damn house!

From what I understand the car is in fact being sold even though VW is taking a hit on everyone they sale.

From what I've read about the Veyron, its supposed to be the fastest, most expensive production car in history. Key words are: production, fast and expensive.
Also, from what I've heard is that normal insurance companies will NOT insure supercars. Supposedly there is some big insurance company outside the U.S. (in England?) that they get insured from.
The people who buy this car are not people who need to buy a house, or another house. More than likely they are worth at least 10's of millions of dollars, if not more. I'm betting that royalty throughout the world takes an interest in them as well as hollywood celebrities (Jay Leno?) as well as your usual business ceo multimillion/billionaires.
I look at them in my dreams. lol

This is the worst Porsche Carrera GT wreck so far and the story behind it is very odd. A couple had just befriended the owner of the Porsche at a resort. The owner allowed the couple to "test" drive his car. The woman took the driver's seat and her boyfriend/husband sat in the passenger seat. Within 1 mile of starting the test drive, the woman lost control and crashed into a couple of trees, tearing the car in half. She suffered severe injuries while the man walked away from the accident. The moral of the story is: NEVER ALLOW A STRANGER TO DRIVE YOUR HIGH PERFORMANCE CAR!!

The new (& final) 2006 SLR's are said to be getting a bump in hp from 607 to 650 hp to keep up with it's comparably priced competitors. I saw one (Black) with Brabus rims, & tinted. Looked insane. I thought Satan himself would be getting out of that car.

Just say "Look here sweet thang! This here car is having issues tonight so I can't let you drive it but you can drive my daily driver...this here 911!". She should be happy with that! And yes I would lie in this situation to save my Carrera GT....
