I see more and more old GM cars that have been accessorized, and each time I think to myself, "I know there's a term for that, but I can't think of it."

"Waste of money"? If you're referring to the ones you see that are skyjacked and have like 22"s on 'em I believe the cool kids call 'em "boxes." It's prevalent in the southern states, based on what I've seen...

"Skyjacked," "22s" and "waste of money" all fit ... but there is some name for the style. I even saw a thread on this board about it, but a search turned up nothing.

And I found the thread I was thinking of. They have magazines for this stuff.

i believe donk describes that style on any car. doesnt necc have to be a buick. I see them on a daily basis in galveston. There are places here dedicated to adding lambo doors, lifting the suspension, and fitting ridiculous grills usually from mercedes, caddy etc. ******* hideous. And they ride like crap

Yep. I followed JT's wikipedia link and saw that Chevys are the most popular cars for this.

I saw what I thought was a Buick the other night, which is what got me thinking about the term. It was ahead of me in traffic, and it had odd blue lights where the sun visors would be. Maybe it had two DVD screens mounted in the visors -- which would be really dumb (having two of them) plus possibly illegal. Or maybe it was just some neon deal. All in all, an ugly car.
