What was your previous car?

Sold my 93 VR RX7 that I had for 8 years and my 01 Focus ZX3 for my 04 BB 6MT RX-8 GT.
A guy in Norway bought my RX7!
I loved my RX7, but amreally enjoying my RX8!
It doesn't have the power or the style, but I wanted to go from 2 to 1.....insurance was killing me.
I wanted a newer car that I could have fun in that also was a rotary.

First car was a '92 Pontiac Bonneville SE, Then I got a '03 Nissan 350Z Performance in Silverstone I ordered in Aug. '02, rec'd in late Nov. '02. While I had that I bought a '91 Jeep Cherokee Ltd. to drive in the winter (now it has a 3" lift w/ 32" tires, a total of 5" of lift). When the Z went out of warranty I had a few close calls on expensive repairs and one $500+ front brake job, so I decided to sell it. I had no idea what to do after that. After about 2 months without a sports car I needed something. Test drove a few cars and like everyone else, the test drive of the '8 did it.
I will say this... No mater what car I ever have, my first love will always be a 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 (Turbo). I learned to drive on it, but he sold it right before I turned 16!

I just found this ad for one of my former cars. I loved this thing although I could never fix the brakes problem. It came stock with Recaro seats!
I still dream about this car sometimes.

1. '88 Ford Aerostar (first vehicle, I could fit 15 friends in that badboy; too bad I didn't have that many)
2. '92 Saturn SL2 (Would you believe your grandparents could rip you off? Niether did I until I bought a car from them.)
3. '99 VW Jetta 2.Slow (returned 2 days later when I found out it was a flood car)
4. '99 VW Passat 1.8T (The best car I seldom drove. $3000+ of CPO warranty work done over two years).
5. '06 Scion tC (The best car I didn't know that I didn't want. It was actually a really nice car, just wasn't for me.)
6. '05 RX-8 MT (This car is viral. My buddy test drove one while killing some time buying a Mazda6 for his girlfriend and he bought it. I test drove his and had to buy it. I let a co-worker drive me to lunch in mine and he's searching Autotrader for his now )
We had the Scion for about 3 months. The wife and I were supposed to share it and she was going to learn to drive stick. After several weeks of failed attempts at leaving various parking lots (she was fine in the lot but would just freeze on public roads), she gave up. She could never get over her phobia of somebody being mildly inconvenienced by having to wait behind her while she figured out the right clutch/gas ratio. So I decided to trade the Scion in for the RX-8. I figure if she's never going to drive it, it doesn't have to be such a compromise.

Too many cars in my short driving career...Started about 5 years ago...
1st - 1992 Buick Riveria - Thought this was the best car ever when I had it, lol, totaled it...
2nd - 1992 Mazda 626 - From 'rents after totalization, worked well...
3rd - 1988 Oldsmobile 98 - Terrible Car, broke too much and waste dtoo much money in parts
4th - 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse - Thought it would be "cool" to rice something out...Ran well, but too much money into aftermarket parts for it...(I have some funny pics of the money I wasted it anyone wants to see them.)
5th(and currently) - 2005 RX-8 Shinka - What a great car, so glad I took the plunge and bought a real car...Makes me hapy everytime I look at her...
