My last car was a white 1987 Mazda 626 2-door. In 1988 Mazda started calling that car the MX-6. In 1999 the engine decided to go **** up (after 187,000 miles) and I bought a Toyota Tacoma. I still have the Tacoma.

Oooh, shiny!
iTrader: (1)
I drove 4 door AT sedans all my life, so this was a big jump for me.
My whole driving history:
1998 Plymouth Breeze
1998 Dodge Intrepid
2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS
2006 Mazda RX-8 GT (MT)
Been driving the 8 for over a month now, and this stupid grin on my face hasn't faded a smidge!

list of cars since first:
94 camaro/auto
95 m3/5
98 528i/auto (loved that one, nice ride and very comfy)
last car was an 02 m3/6
ended up selling it. (long story, woman involved) and was riding my bike for a whole year afterwards.
recently purchased an 04 rx8/6. was the closest car i could find that would remind me of the m3 handling, and sometimes I feel it's even better.
Less power but such a great connection with the road.
For power I still have my zx14 :D

LOL! `95 Subaru Legacy...... wagon - dust grey. Got it for the AWD in the slushy NY winters thinking AWD, AWD, AWD, yeah! Didn't even think the word "wagon" until everyone called it that. :P
Ditched it because it needed over $3,000 in repairs to get it's next state inspection sticker. Wasn't going to happen and I was delighted to have good reason to be shopping for something far more fun.

Power!!
(1990-1991)'83 Chevy Cavalier 2dr. hatchback. I had it for one year and had to replace >50% of all the parts on the car because they wore out at 85K miles! Bought it for $800 sold it for $600 after sinking in about $2000. Yes!!!
(1991-1991) '86 honda civic wagon. This car rocked! It had 8 way foldable back seats and could haul all my stuff. Also had special James Bond smoke screen option. Unfortunately it had a cracked head and ate 1 quart of oil per week (see special smoke screen option).
(1991-1995) '80 Buick Regal It was a 2 door with 4.3 V8. Two tone black and cream. I had all the windows tinted so it looked like Jimmy Hoffa was riding around in the back.
Each door weight approximately 800lbs. Great car great fun. Only leaked power steering fluid and ate 2 mufflers. How I learned to love the american V8.
(1995-2000) 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis. White with Blue velour interior and matching landeau roof. All my friends used to make fun of me but when it was time to take a road trip you know who's car they wanted to ride in.
This was pimp out of the box. It had power everything and double power steering with the authentic Peterbuilt steering wheel **** and ocean liner fog horn. I used to need 2 friends to help cast me off whenever I had to pull away from port. Funny thing about that car was as big as it was I could always park it dead on straight in the center of a parking spot. Good car and cheap to fix. "I need to replace my brake bleeder valves." "Well, bleeder valves are 10 bucks each or I can sell you the calipers for 5 bucks a piece." "I'll take the calipers then." This was primary transport when I had my FD
(1997-1999) '93 RX7-R1 Amazing car that just sucked me dry in repairs. I loved this car and hated it at the same time. It was perfect to drive but would always have crazy stuff wrong with it. door handle broke opening the door, front control arms cracked, rear suspension bushing wore out, water pump went, muffler rusted out, shocks broke. And it only had 35K miles on it! I sold it because I couldn't afford to keep it running and pay for it at the same time.
I still miss it and am glad the 8 is so much better.
(1999-2004) '95 Volkswagen GTI VR6. Another great car for a while...I will always hate VW's for this car.
The engine and drivetrain was great. Just dumb stuff broke that cost a fortune to replace. Motor mounts and alternator went at 80K. They had to remove the engine just to replace the alternator WTF? Oh and it was $800. For an alternator!! water pump exploded. ABS light and brake light came on and after $800 more dollars with the dealer they couldn't fix either of them! Exhaust used to bump against underside of floorpan and you could hear it in the car. Ignition coil went. Heater stopped blowing on the floor. Etc..
(2004-present) '04 RX8 GT. Love it, have not spent anything on repairs outside of modifications and maintenence. Still smiling with 53K. Best car I have owned!

97 Dodge Dakota - bone stock
99 Wrangler Sahara Edition with 4.5 inch suspension lift and Super Swamper tires. Got rid of it when I went to college due to the fact that I got about 10mile/gallon and it rode like a bitch on the interstate. Wish I still had it though.
2000 Honda Accord V-TEC 4cyl - great car drove it throughout college
2005 BB RX-8 absolutely the most fun and enjoyable car I have driven*
(All cars were manual transmission as I feel this is the only way to truely experience a car)
*Note- I've driven a lot of cars as I was a valet for a couple of years at a high end hotel

My last car was a white 92 Mazda MX-3, which I bought new and had 185000 miles on it when I traded it in for my RX-8. I keep my cars a very long time. So I figure I wont buy another car for 10 more years.

believe it or not.. i had a Subaru STi... spent way too much $$ modding it.. and went through 3 different engines..even tho it had bit over 500whp but finally got sick and tired of having the car sitting at the machine shop getting work done..
coming to the RX8 was a great decision that i think.. it has the looks.. has the handling.. the only problem is the lacking of power make me kicking myself sometimes...
it is a great car and i love it!!
