Without a doubt man...From what I've read and can tell, the power is acceptional, handling superb, just needs a good owner and to me that sounds like the right car for me! now all i have to do is make a good down payment and i'll be considered a new owner

Ok, I'll play.
1990 Mazda RX-7 GXL (nonturbo)
I had it for nearly 10 years and sold it with 179k miles on it. It ran great, and I put a lot of work into it. But the RX-8 is better for me in pretty much every way. I've also had a few trucks and a Subie Impreza, and none compare to a good running rotary.

Last car was a 2004 Saturn Ion, which I traded in for my 8.
Now I know you all must be like, "what is he, crazy? Giving up a sweet ride like that."
It was certainly hard to say goodbye. I will miss the power and all of the amenities in the base model. Plus all the looks I got when I would drive around town.
I guess I just felt like I needed to settle down with something a bit tamer. The 8 seemed like the reasonable option.

What can I say? There was just too much trouble I could get into with that car.
Now, with my 8, I never feel the need to break the speed limit or take corners faster than what's posted. Plus, the 8 is much more inconspicuous with police, while the Saturn just screamed "look at me I'm speeding."

um.. are you being sarcastic? because thats the complete opposite with mine, or maybe it was just the yellow that screamed "look at me!" not to mention the supreme ride feel, handling, and brakes, and my 80-100 felt like 65 in my cadillac.. actually 65 in that is scary

Sarcasm doesn't even come close to what that was. While the Saturn was a decent car to me (no real issues in the years I had it) I really wanted to get a car I would actually enjoy driving. Needless to say, I got what I wanted.
And as far as turning heads, the Saturn never caused anyone to so much as blink twice. But in short time I've had the 8, I've already gotten plenty of stares and a few people come up to me complimenting me on the car. That, I must say, is a nice feeling.

I drove a 2008 Ford Focus....yeah practical....but where's the fun? After I totalled it, I purchased my 8(6m) second hand off of a teenager that didn't know what he had. It wasn't till I started looking at Mazda 3's that I knew about this car! I am ashamed for keeping myself in the dark these last 8 years!! The car is awesome and so sweet of a ride.

I had a 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4. It had Mopar stage2 and full bolt on's. I dyno'd at 313 hp and 347 tq. I totalled it taking a turn on bald tires(weekend at the track). Loved the car but, it just wasn't comfortable to use as a daily driver. A lot of part throttle boost and just not comfortable. I test drove several cars, and when I test drove the RX 8, I knew this is what I wanted. 4 yrs later and I still got it and love it.

My first car was a 1990 Dodge Omni, it had a 3 speed auto and a massive 93hp. It was reliable and very comfortable but slower than dirt.
My second car was a 1997 Pontiac Trans AM M6. I've had it for 7 years and will honestly never get rid of it. It has headers and a resonated cat back (SLP loud mouth) along with a few other things and I love the sound of it. I have no Idea how in the 7+ years I've had it I've never gotten a ticket for it being too loud. As much as I love the car it's never been reliable, it's cost me an average of $1000-$1500 a year just to keep it on the road (that's not including tuneups or routine maintenance that's just fixing things that are continually failing). It's died on me one to many times and is finally garaged for awhile and removed from daily driver status and I have "replaced" it with the RX-8.

2004 CRF450R.. not a car but was my first vehicle. probably had the same torque as the rx8 though
rx8 is my 1st car. I want it to be my last because i don't think i could upgrade and be happy without post-purchase rationalizing. The 8 has so many unique features that no other car has.

Sixth car, 06 Rx8, Brilliant Black. Just got it!

My first car was a RX-8 with which i learned to drive (i could somewhat drive before that) but it helped me lot to learn.
Right now im learning to drift which is going well, never want to try that out on a road with traffic though.
