Of those two, it's would most likely be the ladder. I heard that Mazda had given up on the diesel. They couldn't compete in the new class structure.

But, I don't think it's either. I think is a peak at the new Miata.

A concrete confirmation that a new rotary car is coming would be nice, but I'd guess this is something MX-5 related since we know for sure that the redesign is coming soon.

If it was a rotary engine car, you think they would have timed for the announcement to be with SS.

I'll place my bets on the ND Miata announcement.

Well... the carbon fiber in the pic is bothering me a bit.

Mazda's return to Lemans maybe?

I got to say miata... but is this an announcement of something that's going to compete? I'm not seeing where a miata would compete here succesfully... unless.. the new miata was just bad ***.. bad *** miata... oxymoron?

The new ND Miata will almost certainly be lower in power than the current one. The spy shots are already showing a noticeably smaller ND than NC.

But yes, any Miata announcement is an announcement of a car that is going to compete. It's hugely popular for weekend racers, and that isn't going to suddenly change any time soon.

Ah. Yeah, the Miata only competes in the lowest class. It won't be in the GT class field.

I'm hoping for a rotary announcement but the new mx-5 would still be something incredible to see. It'll definitely bring in some cash for further development of the mazda company and maybe some rnd money for a new rotary engine.

I'm pretty sure the rotary is dead... protoype burns to the ground and is swept under the rug... hate the idea.. but think its reality... rx8 may be the last true rotary

"never stop challenging" is motorsport-related for Mazda, no production related announcement

Speedsource is involved.

i think that will be a LMP2 diesel car.

also for LeMans race.

Mazda Motorsports posted this on their FB page, which is pretty telling I think.

I'd say definitely an LMP car. If you look closely, you can see the hints of the center nose raised section that fits:

Remember when Mazda "teased" us with the "fastest convertible race" that actually ended up being a top dropping race against supercars?

Yeah, screw you Mazda. Spy shots reveal more to the public more than Mazda does first hand.
