Which would you rather drive?
Regardless of price, which would you rather drive on a daily basis--RX8 or M3 Coupe/Cabrio, and why? Would your preference change if it were a third "fun" car?
I have owned an '82 rx7 for over 20 years (street ported, headers/no emissions, lots of other mods). It was my daily driver till '95; been in storage since then, as raggedy paint and interior, and 2 seat format was hard to manage with my family of four. The rx8 has made me really miss the rotary and stirring my own gears, but wife and kids seem to have a fondness for the bmw.
I would be particularly interested in feedback from those who are familiar with both cars. Thanks

re: RX-8 or M3
OK, let me state the question a bit differently. Which one would you be driving is someone else was footing the bill? To some this may seem a goofy question, due to the obvious cost difference. I've not been able to find an M3 to drive yet, so I only know what I have read and people that I know who have driven one. But, I really have a thing for the rotary feel and I thought the RX-8 had awsome handling, great steering and a very slick gearbox. I get the sense from my reading that the M3 is high strung and does not love tooling around town, whereas based on my test drive and rx7 experience, I think the 8 would be a fine daily driver. Why am I comparing these cars? They are both very potent four seaters with fine handling and creature comfort.

Dunno about the US but here in UK BMW have a HUGE driver attidude problem.
The 'brand image' they'e developed (arrogant, me first lawbreaking estate agent wideboy type) coupled to the fact that BMW as a company screwed over a large part of the UK's motor manufacturing means I'll never drive my own BMW.
And top of the list of BMW's hated on UK's roads is the M3.. I think only the Range rover has an equal stigma attached to it.

I think once the 8 is delivered and it is seen as a rarety your hate will be directed at white cans. For some reason white van owners hate anything nice on the road and will gladly rub metal if they can.
BMW people are not bad, boring and too rich maybe.
