WRC on the tube?
Does anyone know where I can watch some WRC events this year on tv? Are there any places online that stream live events or pre-recorded events? I'm in southern california and have DirecTV, I've seen some recap shows from years past on the Speed channel but the shows were pretty sparse.

Yes the US WRC fans get totally shafted which is a shame as I think this is the most exciting from of motorsports out there. As far as I know all US TV coverage of WRC is history as of now. Your best bet is downloading the coverage through torrents using something like UTorrent. I download the videos (which is UK coverage - one video for each of the 3 days on an event) to my PC, then use my PS3 to watch on TV. I get all my WRC coverage downloading from a site that, as far as I know, stopped taking new members and went underground do to heat on their F1 videos. There should be other sources out there. Here is one though I don't know much about it: http://www.wrctorrents.com/. You can also try The Pirate Bay and Mininova.org to find WRC torrents. Sounds like a lot of trouble but this is only way I've found to get decent motorsports coverage of any type in the US.

Some history, SpeedTV (Speedvision) used to broadcast a wrap up show on Sunday nights of each event. The cost to the rights to broadcast this became higher than what they wanted to pay. So, we lost the coverage of the events. Apparently, neither party is willing to come to an agreement to bring this back to the U.S.

^ I remember something about a disagreement over money w/ Speed. I guess you can't really blame Speed as unfortunately, the advertisement money they get during any Nascar related crap is probably way more than they would ever get during WRC programming due to the lack of WRC fans in America which, you could say ultimately results from the lack of US coverage. Not sure but I don't think Speed even follows SCCA Pro Rally anymore either.

You can write to Speed and tell them how much they suck for not having any WRC or Pro Rally coverage any more, and suggest in a lengthy rant how they change their name to NASCAR TV, but it really doesn't get you anywhere.
