Think about the Outback GT. It has the same engine as the STI. They just tune it down a couple of horsepower. My wife loves her Outback. We're on our 2nd one.

I think you mean the Legacy Outback XT (not GT).

Also a great all around car. A bit pricey though if you're looking for a brand new one.

Starting price for the WRX should be $25K and I would expect the premium package to go for $27K. I wouldn't be surprised if actual selling price ranges from $23K-26K.

Official pricing comes out next Monday 8/25.

For me, the AWD and the reliability of the WRX makes it hard to pass up. Now that it's finally got summer tires, worthy suspension, and a bump in power, I'd expect it to win over a lot of potential MS3, Cobalt SS, and Lancer RA buyers. The magazine articles are sounding a lot more like they did in 2002 when the WRX first came over. Can't wait to read the new comparisons.

Have not thought about another RX-8...have you driven the R3..

I guy here has just bought the Australian Version of your R3 , we call it the GT.
He is very impressed with the extra handling and he says it is faster than his old RX-8

I have given thought to the 2009 8, being that the leases are $319 right now. Though my wife just told me yesterday that she will allow me to have the 335i if I can figure out a way to either make an extra $200 a month or save us an extra $200 a month. I wonder if she would go for buying generic diapers The thing is we have plenty of disposable income to get the 335i but since it was my stupidity that caused the accident she doesn't think I should be rewarded, which I agree with. So her compromise is that I need to come up b/w the difference of my former Rx-8 payment and the payment on the 335i, which is around $200. Do sperm banks pay well

hmm, what if you stopped drinking that would save me about 200 a month...

in all seriousness if you lease the 335i would you still get the camaro in a few years? to me, i'd probalby rather just keep the 335i.

that being the case, if you buy the car outright now, while your monthly payment would be higher, you could potentially make the argument that over time, since you won't be getting out of a lease and buying another car in 2 years, you'll be spending less.

Well the fact is I hardly drink. Madison is a boring city, atleast to me it is since I'm from NYC. So I hardly go out.
The lease on the 335i would have to be for 3 years, like I mentioned before I want to wait for the second model year before I get the Camaro, also things may change in three years that may require a different car. At this point in my life a lease makes sence because the next three years will bring many changes, could have two more kids by then.

Yea, the 09 WRX does look tempting but I'm not sure if they will have good leases. Especially since I'm wanting a 2 year lease at most. I actually have looked into swapalease.com and leasetrader.com, I found a MS6 in IL for $360 a month with 21 months left. I think I may go the take over lease route since I can get a much shorter lease for a good price with no upfront costs.

I would like to see you get the Cobalt SS just because of the SICK performance of it. But i dont think its a smart buy (hence i would like to see YOU get it). First off its American, its bland as hell and even a kit wont make it look much better as well as less resale value compared to the others. A TOTAL function car. Smart buy would be the MS3 or WRX, better resale, close in performance (well, the MS3 is), better reliability, aftermarket support and they are imports yo.
