On another note, what good does using sodium-filled exhaust valves other than creating an alloy?

GM has their own multi-valve cam-in-block cylinder head architecture. Do a search for the XV8 engine. The XV8 also used separate intake and exhaust cams so they can have independent valve timing adjustment.

I can't remember if this is the new LS7 or just GM's 3-valve prototype.

Wow that Vette would be a great car for me...... If I was 55 and it was available in an automatic.
Vettes are for geezers. Yeah it has a 7.0 who cares. One thing's for sure it'll get some attention at the retirement home.

I don't know how to take that. I hope you are being sarcastic because as far as performance goes the new Z06 is going to be near the top of the pile. And certainly for a performance vs $$ comparison it could likely be at the top.
I'm sorry that you have such a closed mined, stereotypical and frankly outdated view of this car, becauase it will be a great car, and you will be missing out. I guess maybe it doesn't have enough wings and stickers to appeal to you.

As for the comment about wings and stickers... my car has neither.
The redesign of the car is lame. Nothing drastic. Which makes sense because old people are set in their ways. No real new technology. Just the same old pushrod bullshit they've been building for nearly half a century. There's no buzz surrounding this "grandpa's" car.
No one from my generation gives a flying **** about that old *** POS.
NO ONE.
It's the same old boring *** car that it has always been.
It's JUST a Vette.

I guess you are entitled to your opinion. I am from your generation, and I give a flying ****, must be something wrong with me, either that or I can appreciate all cars, not just ones designed on a certain island.
I have driven the previous Z06, and there was nothing boring about that car. It was a blast to drive, and I had a great time with it at Mosport. I can only presume that this car will be better in every way.
Again, maybe it doesnt have enough wings and stickers for your generation to appreciate it. This certainly is a car for "showoffs", i would take it over a old mans Z06 any day
Showoffs non stickered or winged up car

I guess you don't like porsches either, becuase their exterior design is essentially unchanged since the introduction of the 911.

Bummed, but bring on OU!
Who needs so called 'new' technology? Show me a naturally aspirated OHC engine putting up those numbers and costs at the most $70k. I get so tired of the "GM sucks 'cause they still use pushrods" comments. This is the most advanced pushrod engine to ever come off a production line. 500 NA horsepower and a 7000rpm redline, in a car that will compete with vehicles 3 times it's cost, and still get mid 20's mpg on the highway. I rarely see a Z06, much less one with a little old man driving it.

Post and flame away. I really could give a **** less. BTW that car doesn't have the graphics any longer. I own a graphics company and that is why they were there. Speaking of graphics and stickers what about the Grand Sport. Nice ghey *** stripe job there.

They have big motorized wings too, so yeah I like them even more...
