Believe it or not, any negative reactions I have to this topic are not directed to MM. I thing I have him pretty well pegged, and his behavior here is no surprise to me. What I find disturbing is how severely a fairly innocent person (I say fairly innocent because I would only place 5% of the blame on Lance) is chastised by MM supporters. Even highly respected individuals such as Stealth, RG, CRH, at best, smear out blame uniformly when it is not. And then the OP is attacked on his supposedly unreasonable reactions to having people doing the equivalent of repeatedly poking sharp sticks in his eye. When you are accused of a wrongdoing, you need to try and respond to it one way or the other, otherwise it suggests you are guilty. Although it's tough to accept, imagine how much more respect Jeff would have received, from people on both sides of the fence, if he had just said at the start (and it's not too late) something like: LANCE, I'M SORRY. THINGS JUST GOT CRAZY AROUND HERE VERY FAST. I'LL TRY AND MAKE IT UP TO YOU SOMEHOW, I PROMISE. |

As Easy has already stated, we are in the process of following the paper trail on this. I hope to have more info on it this evening.
|
No offense to you, wait Offense to you... Fuck Off Delmeister. What you said is the most ignorant thing here. Everyone has their off days, even CRH! But don't randomly talk about these respected people on the forum and don't talk out of your ass.
I hope CRH's post shut you up, n00b GTFO! |
At this point, the issue with lance has been SOLVED. I'm sure he's enjoying his accessport as we speak. There was an issue with his address, the issue could not be resolved until Lance provided an address that UPS would take OR MazdaManiac found another method of shipping. Push came to shove and MazdaManiac sent the accessport via another route while also paying for upgraded shipping at his own expense.
Problem solved. As for Kazuma, Easy and Hund are having to backtrack through a few months of emails and other paperwork to figure out what the situation is. Since MazdaManiac doesn't keep a surplus of Accessports in inventory I doubt the situation is as simple as the device was never mailed. That being said, please let's just reserve our comments until the full facts have been discovered. |
Then thread closed? Because it was resolved...Oh and, finally! Everything was resolved for a demanding customer!
|
Still working through the paper trail but lets be clear on something....

Kazuma. Google does not maintain inventory of the APs, ship them or track their shipping. Should we click the google buttons for shipping and such? Yes, but it is not a requirement. It does not have any effect on ANYTHING. I will post up more info as soon as I have it available. TTFN! |
he's a busy man. patience is a virtue. although i think i remember getting it in 2 weeks or so.
|
No shazy, the thread is not closed unless you don't see this post:rolleyes:. Take it easy man. If you're upset with me for not including you as one of the distinguished few, well, sorry eh.
Ray: Yes I will admit that there are some difficult people out there and it would not surprise me that Lance is one of them, and I don't know what to make of the fact that Brice from Fluid agrees with you. Unless I missed something, I did not see Fluid respond to this "......When I spent $1000 with Fluid that fucker told me that everything was there ready to ship. 4 weeks later he still hadn't done anything with my order." I know, it's another complaint by the same person, but open accusations such as this, and those that have been directed to Jeff need to be responded to by the person being accused. What is particularly incomprehensible is that Jeff, and other distinguished members, have used this very forum to draw attention to their own plight. They wanted the facts out because they felt they had a legitimate case. Once such a thing is opened up in this forum, then one must play by the rules, and the main rule is that both parties tell their side of the story. Your buddies standing up for you doesn't cut it. It's not about how good a guy you are in other respects, it's about the details of how this matter was handled. You have to admit it is wrong to repeatedly bash the complainant without first having all the facts on the table. Yes, you and the others I've mentioned are highly regarded. That is precisely why I hoped for a more reasonable response from you (plural, as in youse guys). That means a little more appreciation of the facts as we know them (Lance's side), and some utterance to the effect that Jeff should be addressing these accusations directly. Your statement: "Even when those in the know tell me I am not to blame I STILL do what I can to make the customer happy" is commendable, but not something a lot of vendors can claim. People don't remember vendors' arguments against accusations as much as they remember that they were big enough to take the action to satisfy someone else at their own expense. In fact I'm mystified as to why some vendors react so negatively to accusations. It's a unique form of free advertising. If they portrayed a more helpful rather than a defensive stand (regardless of fault), you'd think the respect they would gain would more than compensate for the immediate losses in the form of greater future business. Thanks for trying but I'm afraid you did not convince me, and I have to ask .... why is it that I cannot convince you? Is it really so unreasonable to ask that we keep our eye on the ball? Although true, it is not really relevant that Jeff can be difficult to work with sometimes, about other vendors' opinions, how hard you have worked to gain your reputation, how big the AP business is, or how difficult Lance may be to deal with. I know this for sure. Some people here have been unreasonable in their reaction to Lance. I think I am being reasonable in my reactions to those reactions. Do you really think I am not? Amaris8: It may have escaped some people, but I did notice that pksan123 said exactly the same thing in the second post of this thread. |
/\ reading your post reminds me of Atlas Shrugged..
|
Reading your post I don't know what you're talking about.
|
Now I do. For those who don't, and want more ammunition to bash me:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Atlas Shrugged is a novel by Ayn Rand, first published in 1957 in the United States. It was Rand's fourth, longest, and last novel, and she considered it her magnum opus in the realm of fiction writing.[1] As indicated by its working title The Strike, the book explores a dystopian United States where leading industrialists and businessmen refuse to allow the government to exploit their labor for the "general good." The protagonist, Dagny Taggart, sees society collapse around her as the government increasingly asserts control over all industry, while society's most productive citizens, led by the mysterious John Galt, progressively disappear. Galt describes the strike as "stopping the motor of the world" by withdrawing the "minds" that drive society's growth and productivity; with their strike these creative minds hope to demonstrate that the economy and society would collapse without the profit motive and the efforts of the rational and productive. The novel's title is a reference to the mythical Titan Atlas, who in the novel is said to hold the weight of the world on his shoulders.[2] The novel includes elements of mystery and science fiction,[3] and contains Rand's most extensive statement of Objectivism in any of her works of fiction, a lengthy monologue delivered by the strike's leader, John Galt.[4] The theme of Atlas Shrugged is the morality of rational self-interest. It advocates the core tenets of Rand's philosophy of Objectivism and expresses her concept of human achievement. The book explores a number of philosophical themes that Rand would subsequently develop into the philosophy of Objectivism.[5][6] It centers on the decline of Western civilization, and Rand described it as demonstrating the theme of "the role of man's mind in existence." In doing so it expresses many facets of Rand's philosophy, such as the advocacy of reason, individualism, the market economy and the failure of government. Atlas Shrugged received largely negative reviews after its 1957 publication,[7] but achieved enduring popularity and consistent sales in the following decades. In the wake of the late 2000s recession sales of Atlas Shrugged have sharply increased, according to The Economist magazine and The New York Times. The Economist reported that the fifty-two-year-old novel ranked #33 among Amazon.com's top-selling books on 13 January, 2009[8]. More than a month after these news reports, on 2 April, 2009, the novel ranked #15 at Amazon and they ranked it their #1 seller in "Fiction and Literature." |

U guys can get on me if you want, but i cant help to remind you the basic fundamentals of customer service. #1 is communication...communication... communication! Thats what is at the root of all this. Not "MM is busy", "his custom tunes take time", "quality takes time", "the address was wrong"...he simply did not take the time to communicate. Its on him, instead of making excuses and trying to give vendor's POV, how about showing some balls and accepting responsiblity, fixing it and moving on to become better (like he has with Hund). The End. |

Business owner agrees that he can supply X item by Y deadline, customer pays business owner. Business owner does not deliver product as agreed. Business owner does not communicate with buyer sufficiently, buyer feels the need to post publicly to try and extract a response or explanation. To this point everything seems to flow logically for me. Then, a funny thing happens...the moderators and members of this forum attack the buyer for stating facts and complaining about a lack of fulfillment on the part of business owner? Am I missing something here? Are you kidding me? I am a business owner, have been doing work for the public in this capacity since 1999, and as my sole profession since 2001. I have dealt with them all, trust me...but through it all, I could rarely blame the customer for issues encountered, and even more rarely, could I expect other members and forum moderators to ride the "let's bash the customer" bandwagon with me. IF there was a problem, and there have been many, I could chalk it up to the buyer's lack of understanding, which in turn I could chalk up to my inability to properly convey information as completely as I should have...which then often led to a revision in the way I conduct business and my general operations. And out of all this, a halfass explanation for the delay, and not even a halfass explanation for the lack of communication is given, and now the buyer is banned for stating his complaint? Now, perhaps the thread has been significantly edited to the point that a lot of original comments are no longer visible to me, so I might not be getting the whole story...but based on what I see, the buyer conducted himself as well as could be expected for someone who has been treated in the manner he was. It's sad that politics plays such a role in a car community and internet forum that the truth must be swept under the rug to protect the guilty, at the expense of the customer. All I know is, if I were to run my affairs in this manner, well, let's just say I'd no longer be in the rotary game, and I'd have had to find a new job long ago. The membership of this site seems to find some things acceptable and tolerable which in other areas of life would be completely unacceptable. |

i don't know that this is the case but Easy might have kazuma confused with another customer who had purchased it, sat on it for a while, and then demanded that jeff do his tuning 8 months later. i can't for the life of me remember who it was (or if it was the OP and those posts got cleaned up) but sounds like that might be the issue here.

Demanding money back for a product that was ordered months ago will take time varifying all of the logistics. You have every right to be pissed if you never received something you have paid for, but that doesnt mean they should take your word for it and just refund the money. If you have waited this long with no AP and no money, you can wait a couple more weeks for them to investigate the situation and sort fact from fiction. Honestly, fighting through the thread forum is doing nothing but causing headaches for Hund and Easy who are trying to help you. Calm down a little bit and let them do their job. You will have an answer when they find out what is going on. Now, this doesnt mean to not post and not check in with them via email, things may just work out if you give them a little time.
