BAD: Robert Hamilton

I purchased a Greddy ECU from Robert Hamilton, robert.hamiltoniii@us.army.mil

He did not ship nor did he refund the money, Paypal claim cannot refund the full amount and it looks like i'm getting stuck with the bill.

I know this sounds awkward but should I contact the US Army and let them know that this person has commit fraud?

He was a ebay verified member and paypal verified but that means nothing I guess. You would think that since they are verified and commit a crime that they can press criminal charges and follow the paper trail back.

What does verified mean then? any two bit crook can get verified and have zero repercussions.

He has a RX-8 and I hope that nobody here get's scammed by him

Find out his unit and get in touch with his commanding officer. You'll get your money back.

he could be in the brig, he could have been suddenly deployed, he might even have been killed in action ...

then again, no such person may even exist in the military, you may have been scammed from the start ...

why dont you check into the legitamacy of that site (in case its a clever phish or copy of some kind ) with the army

https://www.us.army.mil
and how hard it is to get an email from there if you arent army or DA

then ask how to contact that person

it's also not hard to spoof an email address... even less for a scammer.

I checked the email header information and tracked it back to the U.S Military.

Gave me misinformation (ie: fake tracking #), the package never arrived and he never bothered to email me back in any regard.

I don't know which user he is, but here is his ebay account: http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/rghamilton3/

you see he did buy a turbo timer and other rx-8 equipment, so there's a good chance he has a turbo rx-8.

This is the largest rx8 forum, so I'm assuming that he's lurking on here. It's unfortunate to pass judgement on him, especially a person that serves in the military where core values are extremely important.

I sent him another email trying to give this one last try to resolve this, but I highly doubt results since it's already been 5 weeks

^^There are bad seeds in every garden man. Military is no exception. My advice is keep digging. Unless he has a totally fictitious identity from which he used to obtain a bank account and then create online accounts with paypal and ebay, he had to have used valid bank/credit card info to become verified. Im willing to bet that is indeed his real name. Turn over enough rocks and you will be surprised what will surface. He is counting on you just to throw up your hands and forget about it...dont do it. If it were me i would find out if he was/is actually in the military and if you can verify that, then finding out where he is located/based out of is just a matter of spending time on the phone. Trust me, i use to work for the government doing security background checks on military personnel for security clearances, tracking them down can be time consuming but very doable.

^^There you go. A few clicks and presto. The way to get at this guy is to go through those around him. Forum members, family members, friends, co-workers, superiors, ect. No one likes to have people above them know of their dirty laundry, also, if you pester those around him they will in turn pressure him to rectify the situation, out of responsiblity or just the fact they get tired of you pestering them.

He's at Army NTC for the next couple of weeks. I'm not Army, so I don't know what that really means, but I don't know if he has internet access while he's away. I haven't met him personally, but he's part of the local forums and seems like a stand up guy.

I thought this issue was resolved. I never gave a fake tracking number just the one I was issued. I would never scam someone because I wouldn't want that to happen to me. I'm sorry it came to this but I believe this was taken way to far. No need to get personal over a business transaction that didn't work out.

LOL, well no offense, but I nor anyone else here gives a rats *** if you are pissed or not. Fact is YOUR forum member screwed one of ours, so, we will do what the hell we need to do to get our boy taken care of, if it means draggin his name through the mud or harrassing every single forum he's a member of, so be it.

You have no clue how far the rx8club peeps will go to protect their own, so i suggest you do less talkin here and more action there........
