Houston Dealership: Gullo Mazda Service Dept.

There has been a change in management at Gullo Mazda's Service Deptartment, and I can honestly say, for the first time, that I trust my dealership to do grade-A work on my car.

Several months ago I would have told you that calling Gullo a stealership was a compliment. Their service deptartment manager, JAMES RUSHING (remember that name and avoid it at all costs), was horrible at his job. A great guy to talk to - there was nothing wrong with his personality - but when it came to working on your car, he was just plain lazy.
He avoided paperwork like the plague, and as a result you never got any recepts for work done on your car... mostly because he never made a complete work order and nothing got done! Of the 5 or 6 times I brought the car in for TSB work or warrany work, I got he car back in the same state that I left it. To make things worse, he knew absolutely nothing about cars. He was purely a front-desk worker. If you pushed him hard enough to actually DO something about your problems, he would instruct the techs to do things as he saw fit.
Perhaps examples will help explain:
My '04 had water in the tail light. I brought him the TSB to tell him to replace it. The next day I get my car back and there's no water in it anymore. When I asked how he got a hold of the part so quickly he told me that it didn't need to be replaced, just "modified"....
...know what he did?...
...HE DRILLED HOLES IN MY F**KING TAIL LIGHT TO DRAIN THE WATER!!

Time and time again I'd leave the car with him and get it back just the same. No work done, no paper work to show I had brought the car in, and no reciept since "nothing was found" or "none of the work would have been covered." About 3 months ago my sunroof completely jammed and I forced him to fix it under warranty. But rather than replace it like he was supposed to, he just had the techs fiddle with the harnesses until it opened and closed again. Ground like hell and never closed completely, but it was "fixed."

Well, just recently it started to not work again.

I took it in expecting the worst.
Soon as I pull up a new guy is there to greet me. He takes detailed notes about EVERYTHING I had complaints about - the rattles, the brakes, the hard starts, the transmission... EVERYTHING. He calls my extended waranty provider WHILE I'M THERE and tells me what he can cover, what he can't, and what he thinks he can "sneak in" under waranty work in order to save me money!

Apparently this "new guy" was the service director of Gullo's service shop for many many years, left for a little while, came back, saw how James was running the place, fired his ***, and is now running the show!

If you live in the area, I highly suggest you take advantage of the new management - it's the tip-top notch service we die-hard Rotorheads deserve!
