With the dealing I've had from them the past week, I'm definately going to order from them again. Less than one week from order to delivery...and I'm in Canada.

I think you should cool it Bastage. This is NOT your thread and you don't need to continue the whole Bastage vs. Mysql crap. If it flares up again from this post, it is your fault. I don't think people want to go to every thread and see Mysql did this or Bastage did that (or didn't do that or didn't do this). In any case, lets listen to the kid who is telling you what to do (and most everyone else I think is in agreement with me on this one!)

Everything else is interesting to read though

My comment was directed to whoneedspistons. I have no argument with mysql, but if there was an argument it would be pretty ironic...

Its very easy to talk trash about a company when you don't even know what there quality is like. I expect that some people will change there minds after they see the car in person. The detail, care, quality, and ingenuity that has gone into that car is beyond anything you guys have seen on an 8. I am not sure how much experience some of you have with performance companies but there are only a few that produce high quality products and Mazsport is among them.

I believe this thread was for Roland to vent on not everyone else to chime in on a company that they probably don't have any experience with. I have multiple products from them and I am more impressed with each one that I purchase.

Umm...I don't see it here Anyways, it was an inflammatory comment nonetheless.

so since mazsport stuff are of such high quality, and you wait 500000000000 billion trillion years for their stuff

I think it's best to buy their stuff used......or slightly used, or better yet, NIB but the guy sold his car before he received the stuff he ordered when his car was new....... I think Mazsport should extend their support to people who buy their products second hand, that way we would all make the economy go round

more people will be pushed to buy mazsport products, and they can rest assured that when they sell them second hand, 100+ people will wait to salvage their parts for about 1-2k off the MHSRP (Mazsport Holy **** Retail Pricing) and that way in the end, more people will buy Mazsport stuff, especially the noobs :D

Thumbs up

I think you guys should understand how busy they're.

I had a problem with my fuel pump, Scott just pm me and offered to lend me the tool for the filler cap for free, no questions asked.

and there are so many people calling Scott everyday for products that's "totally" unrelated to Mazsport.

So just give them time.

some important facts to know!!

i thought i would clear up some things because, as some have said...the whole story is not in this thread....and granted i am close with vicki (OP) and roland but that has afforded me some facts that have not been laid out in this thread because Vicki was kind enough not to get too nasty, and i held off posting for her
sake...

1. this is NOT about a Pettit vs Mazport complaint...just want everyone to know that because some think because i have a pettit blower, that im a fangirl of pettit and not of mazport..

2. this about a customer service issue (not product, so much - but much more could be revealed about that, but i will only do that if vicki gives me the ok)

3. the OP (and SO) kept quiet about this for the first 6 months for fear of recrimination...ie slowing of production etc or anything else that might happen since living in PA they could not just stop in and see the progress of the vehicle in FL...

4. originally Scott promised them the car would be done in 4-6 weeks...at that time their car was in ny in the midst of a custom body work job that was gonna cost upwards to 5k...widebody with custom paint...

5. scott requested that they have the car there on the 14th of may to allow for that 4-6 wk job (it was a scheduled appt)

6. they yanked the car (fenders off etc) out of the shop in ny and had it shipped to mazport..

7. the $13k payment was paid in advance of receipt of the car...(ive never heard of full payment up front on a job like that before)

8. to shorten the story a bit, needless to say, the car wasnt ready in 4-6 weeks
and updates where not given even when requested...emails werent responded in a timely manner...no pics forthcoming...just statements like "the car is staying cool in the air conditioned shop"

9. of course, he had the car for over 6 months when the ignition upgrade was LAUNCHED...and roland was asked if he wanted to WAIT for that...

10. that was nov/dec if im correct on that...so, now its July, over a year later, and they are just getting their car back...with an added 4k to the price tag...
total $17k..

11. it still has to go back to ny which its on its way, not sure how long that job will be, but they are without the car for 2 show seasons....and too me...no amount of money can subtract the pain of not having my car for 14 months...

this is just waaaay bad business in my eyes...and it doesnt even seem as though he did anything to make up for it.....if he wanted to make it right, he could have done something...this lack of customer service is what im referring too...
perhaps not charging him the 4k (whatever was done to add that to the mix)
would have been the right way to go...

if it were my business, i would want to do something to regain some confidence
within the rx8 community...as it stands, i think its done more harm than good...no matter what the product looks like or how much whp...

As I have said before the delay was because of development work on the Type2 V2 kit. Roland and I had numerous lengthy conversations during this process giving him an insider view of what was going on. During those conversations a TON of information was shared between he and I that will remain behind the scenes due the confidential nature of the development process. It did take longer than expected, the customer did agree to be part of the development process and did receive a significant discount for this. I spoke with Roland an hour ago, he had a safe trip back BTW and has already taken Vicki for a ride.

Thanks for your time, Scott

It takes a certain amount of self control to not defend yourself when you're " being called out" as you call it...It's called professionalism and maturity...

As for the other.......Let's leave this for Roland to respond too...seems the "women" folks can't let this go

Problem is your " facts" are based on one side of the equation!

And as to the other I'm not going to go there......Unless you start acting like one

disclaimer....these last few posts contain stereotype portrayals not intended to defame or belittle women, just to point out that women tend to talk about there problems...... not necessarily trying to get a male to try and fix them. Men on the other hand tend to bring up problems to seek a solution

Members - Don't forget this is a GoodGuy/BadGuy post - peoples' reputations are at stake here. Let's keep our posts factual and cut the hype.

.....and anyone who has never had dealings at all (taja?) can take their comments elsewhere.

I had dealings with Scott b4, to me he seems like a pretty cool guy.

and Im sure he already did what he can do to speed the process up asap,

If Scott just sit there and answer every single call looking for him, I dont think he will have any time to do anything else.

If he never answer calls and just concentrate on making things "happen" in the store, people will say Mazsport has no customer service. (yeah I know other ppl can answer questions too, but people looking for "scott", so only he can answer them)

Not to mention the OP agreed to be part of this process. Yeah sure it probably took way longer than expected, but its all part of the R&D.

Would any of you guys want Mazsport to just rush something out ? If thats the case any of you can go ahead and get the Greddy kit. No need to get Mazsport's kit.

Go ask companies like AMD that, is it easy to stay on schedule ?

If they have the car I would like to hear there opinions... I am sure that will clear the air.

nycgps... I completely agree with you. Mazsport seems like they would never turn out a poor quality product. Therefore you are always going to run into delays. R&D for the fastest renesis motor will always take some time.
