MM - Undelivered turbo kit

and even better, it's not locked and it doesn't need to be because there really aren't any secrets and it being optimized to your particular vehicle likely won't apply to any other. That's all you are really doing with an NA car; optimizing it for your particular vehicle. The only reason to lock it is to enslave the owner to your services or otherwise imply that there is voodoo in there when there isn't.
thank u... simply thank u...

The ecu itself implements a seed/key authentication mechanism before it will respond to certain diagnostic commands, such as flashing. Cobb changes the key, but uses Mazda's algorithm.
This is different issue than the protection used on the tune files and AccessPort.
I've poked around at it, because I'd like to add features to my AccessPort. However, the firmware updates for it are obfuscated somehow as well, and no source is available (gpl violation.) I'm sure someone actually good at reversing could figure it out easily, but I think I'll save my limited brainpower for the ecu itself.
