BEST MAZDA HYUNDAI (Houston, TX) Southwest Freeway
HUGE NEGATIVE
If you want the job done right the first time, don't go there for service. Asked them to install a simple spare tire kit, waited 3 1/2 hours, and they cut a hole into my trunk panel rather than slits for the spare tire mountings. Filled my oil 1/2 inch over full mark. Service manager is a joke.

Herzog Meier Mazda - Beaverton, OR

Sales - NEUT - I dont know, Didnt buy my car here.

Service - SO FAR SO GOOD -

I took my 8 in the get the new radio unit installed 2 weekends ago. I drove 40 miles to get there, and they tell me the radio didnt come in. but they called and said it did. so they put in my new taillight. works great. they said they couldnt replace my headlights because they burnt problem is on the outside and isnt covered. kind of like rock chips isnt covered. so i went in on tuesday cuz i got the call saying my radio had come in. so i drive another 40 miles there...and when i get there they tell me that they got the display again....not my radio. they felt very bad and offered to fill my tires with nitrogen for free. ($20 value).

i am still happy taking my car there. oredering the wrong part happens. so i would still reccommend this dealership FOR SERVICE

Wellesley Mazda, MA.

I have no power steering, i haven't for about 11 days. i don't get seen until friday. GG. it's not like it's a huge safety issue or anything. anyway if i get in an accident, even a fender bender, because of it. i'm going to sue the ***** of of them.

NA mazda got involved, they are awesome. they're pressuring the dealer into taking me early, and hooking me up with a rental car. i'm very impressed

Thumbs up Gaithersburg MD Mazda -- Positive

I bought a new '06 RX-8 from Gaithersburg Mazda (Maryland) based on their reputation, and I give them a POSITIVE. The dealership is almost a 2-hour drive for me, but so far it has been worth it to deal with them. When I bought the car, the low-pressure sales people bent over backwards to help me (including personally taking me to an after-market shop where I could get custom leather and seat warmers installed). I experienced the typical visor snap-age after owning the car one month, and when I brought it in for a new visor, they were prompt, polite, and did the approprite follow-ups.

Mazda of Knoxville--NEGATIVE on Service

Travelled 150 miles to buy the car, no evidence of M flash and would not verify it to me. Dealership owner, told me to "get on down the road". Would not even call me a taxi and when I asked to use the Yellow pages, a salesmen grabbed the book from me and said, "get outta my office". WOW!!
The service department has a similar attitude. My sunvisor broke while I was visiting my parents, who live about 30 miles north of Knoxville. I called Mazda of Knoxville to make an appt. to get it fixed, and after a long time on hold, got parts and service in sync.

Now my appt. was at 11:00 on Thursday May 31. Two days earlier, my parents and I had been in an auto accident which left us all banged up and totaled my dad's car. We'd already made plans to visit my brother and his family in Charlotte, NC on the 31st, so we decided to get my car fixed on the way. Due to the accident, we were all moving slow, so we were about 30 minutes late. When we got there, the service writer told us he'd sent all his techs to lunch. Parts refused to give me the part because they wouldn't get their warranty money.

I went back to the service desk and explained my plight, but to no avail. I might mention at this point that three guys were standing around the desk. Instead, I was chastised for being late and told I could come back at 1:00!

At that point, we decided to hit the road. About halfway to Charlotte, the visor started falling down and I tried pushing it out of the way and managed to blow a fuse, losing the radio, the interior lights and the smart key--and my CEL light came on. I called Roadside Assistance and after some effort, managed to talk to someone at the closest dealer, and was told the car was OK to drive. We then were able to reach Montgomery Mazda in Charlotte who told us they could fix the car that evening or the next day, whatever we preferred.

I took it to Montgomery in Charlotte the next day; the service writer himself fixed it and we were in and out in less than ten minutes. I posted this on the positive dealer thread.

If Mazda-Knoxville had been half as cooperative, we would have been spared a lot of grief.

Orangeville Mazda Ontario Canada Negative. Totally Negative stay away.
Purchased car Feb 2005, since then there has been 3 owners, 5 Service Managers and countless Service Desk personal.
Only 1 mechanic has any sort of idea how to work on rotaries.
They seem to have no idea about service recalls (TSB's)

I've never left there completely satisfied with the work they have performed. They will not provide me with any MazdaSpeed parts for the 8. Just last week they denied to inspect my Plugs or Coils even though the check engine light was on. I knew it was a P300 Random Misfire Detected code (I own a ODBII Reader). Their excuse was I have too many modes... umphf -- See signature for mods

Thumbs down Oak Tree Mazda San Jose, CA

Terrible personality's, gave me good deal on the car, but then tried to rip me off on parts. Wanted to sell me the fender strakes for $360, due to high shipping costs. Internet manager acted like he didn't want to be there during the deal. It took all of five minutes. Left his assistant to finish up the deal and didn't inform him of the little things in the deal. (a full tank of gas and detail) Assistant tried to say they never fill the gas tank on a purchase. They couldn't complete the work on the "due bill", so they will call me later to schedule an appointment. It's been a week and no call. The finance guy was okay, but I paid cash and he insisted I had to give them proof of insurance with their name in 10 days or they would charge me for a policy. Tried to sell me a extended warranty at $2700 and after I refused he kept lowering the price. After about five tries he came down to $1100. I can't believe he would think I would pay that much. There was only one customer in the entire dealership other than me and it still seemed like they didn't want my business.

Westcott Mazda --- Incompetant Dealership

Westcott Mazda, San Diego area..... TERRIBLE DEALERSHIP. I totaled my car 3 weeks ago and decided to check out an 05 shinka 14k miles (i drove 1 1/2 hours to see it). The guy on the phone said they would probably go as low as 22k (sounded good!).

The girl (LORENA) who was "helping" me did not know anything about the car, and all she told me was how 'cool' and 'sweet' and 'good' the car was. She also kept assuring me that mazda makes good cars. I was already there to buy an rx8... it was silly of her to try to sell me the company. Well apparently the car was "stock"..... but i noticed an after-stock exhaust and strakes. I wanted to know what else was added to it but of course she had no idea, and neither did her boss. They wouldn't even tell me how long the car was on their lot. They wanted 25k in the end.

Stay away from this place if you haven't done your homework already! The whole time I felt like my head was going to explode. My questions were not answered straight-up and all they could say about the car was it "was nice". Yes, it was a nice car but they were not a competant company. They will try to jip you and try to feed you as much BS as possible to get you to take home a car.

EDIT: they called me the day after I left their dealership and offered me 22k on the car. how predictable.

Thumbs down Boo Las Cruces!

Mazda of Las Cruces:
I know a previous post from back in '04 said that Mack Massey Mazda in El Paso was bad and Las Cruces good, but maybe they changed after they were bought (they are now Mazda of El Paso). I went to the Las Cruces Mazda and they told me they had to run a credit check just for a test drive. This was the first time I seriously considered that I may, in fact, actually look stupid or have an "F with me" tattoo on my forehead. As for the rest of the Las Cruces Mazda I cannot say, because I wouldn't walk across the street to pee on them if they were on fire since that first insult.

Had that happen to me at a local dealer around here. Needless to say when I do get my 8 it won't be from them.

Claremont Mazda, Bad Sales Rep

Claremont Mazda, California: NEGATIVE. LOL this one is funny. When I was searching to buy my current RX8 I visited the Mazda dealership in Claremont to see what they had. I told the guy that I wasn't buying that day and he told me that there was ABSOLUTELY no way that I could test drive a car unless I was planning on buying it. He also said that there were no used ones, which I walked by them when I entered the dealership. The final thing that he said that made me turn around and walk was when he told me that the RX8 had more power than the G35 because the RX8 comes with a V8 engine... LOL I guess he thought that the 8 in RX8 meant that it contained a V8 engine.

Those people are retarded. They keep calling me about that damn shinka. You are right, no navigation. They offered to sell it to me for 22k AFTER I put a 1k deposit down and withdrew it almost 3 hours after. If you look at the driver's door there is a scratch on it next to the handle. He told me that they would buff it out but I highly doubt it. it was a deep scratch. That car is not in "perfect" condition. I test drove it and the stick felt kind of loose. The center console was a pain in the butt to close also.

P.S. Anyone that wants to look at that shinka and is planning on buying it from those ***-hats make sure that you point out that the floor mats are in bad condition and the plastic pieces over the fender (under the strakes) need to be replaced. They were going to give those to me for free if I bought the car.

Westcott Mazda, San Diego... AGAIN

Seriously this company is up to no good. I put a deposit on a Shinka they had but withdrew it the next day because I realized how bad they were trying to rip me off. I asked them to send my check back to me (it was for $1k) and the guy in charge- MARK - told me he would just rip it up and throw it away. I told him no, send it back to me even if you rip it up.

I GOT MY CHECK BACK WITH ONLY MY SIGNATURE RIPPED OFF OF IT. THEY KEPT THIS PART. wtf? I called them demanding to know why they wanted to keep my signature portion of the check, what were they going to do with it? (I was really just freaked out that they know my account #, social security, etc. and now have copies of my signatures all over the place) He hung up on me and I had to have my mom call him and threaten to call the police and accuse him of possible identity theft/fraud. Why wouldnt he just write VOID across the check and send it back? This guy is a freakin idiot.

ANYONE going into this Mazda dealership needs to keep their eyes and ears open. I wish I went with my instinct and left immediately when I sensed something that wasnt right. I put a fraud watch on my credit thanks to these unprofessional people.

EDIT: All of you guys who have ligitimate concerns about your car dealerships should report the issues to the Better Business Bureau ( www.BBB.org )

Thanks atilla- I will definitely look into that dealership. My only problem is I want a tigray, galaxy gray, or white rx8 - grand touring and low miles. I won't be able to keep up on the high maintenance of a black 8.

what I mean by maintenance is appearance-wise and keeping it clean
