Exclamation Problems with MazdaManiac

I can't pm you, your inbox is too full, I have not received any emails back since the one that said my app was approved. It has been almost THREE MONTHS since I submitted my maps for tune. PLEASE please get back to me because I can't drive the damn car until it's tuned. It's my DD and I haven't driven it for three months. Please help me out.

I can't see why you can't uninstall the AP and run the stock map until you hear back from Jeff.

Don't know how that could hurt the car unless I'm missing some type of specific tuning you have him doing ie. FI.

I have exactly two months since a receive my confirmation email for my second calibration, i send and email to Jeff and bhr (i think) and I got a reply today for someone at bhr asking jeff if im in queve or what, i think he is really busy at the moment and i feel you! i really want my tunes to be done fast but there's nothing that we can do, he never reply emails and the only way to contact him is posting on the forum (or at least the best) that makes things not personal good luck with your tunes!!

yup, just installed a turbo and the trim is off so it's not driveable, even like a grandma because it starts to smoke..

I am not trying to bash anyone, but how do you stay in business with this type of customer service?

MM has assured us that no one will be forgotten, as well, he will have your car tuned, even if it's outside the 6 month mark (provided you're sending correct info, not effing up logs, etc)

Well that's good news, because as little and as plasticy those damn APs are, $600 is no small pricetag and the biggest reason why I bought it was because of the MM tune service.

Maybe he's just waiting to make it a dramatic comeback and finish them last minute like a movie? WELL MY MOVIE IS SHORT BECAUSE I AM DEPLOYING SOON................. can't wait much longer.

HAHAHAHA! I dont think theres going to be a dramatic comeback, my first calibration got it in 36 business days from my comfirmation email, and now for my 2nd is allready 43 business days, who knows how longer will be the rest of them...

Jedi is correct and the title was changed to make this thread compliant with RX8Club Rules.
Also, moving it to Good Guy/Bad Guy Forum.

i dont recall ever hearing of any tuning, or lack of, that produces smoke... you may want to consider the possibility that you have other issues besides lack of the tune you want

what turbo, used/new, details on install, etc will empower those with more knowledge and interest than I to help you out

So did you start out with a base NA map of FI map from MazdaManiac? Please tell me you did not send in a datalog while NA and then install a turbo.

Well if he upgraded his injectors then he would get unburnt fuel smoke and the car would run extremely rich.

Either way if he has a turbo on the car and running a map not customized for his car he needs to park the car or find another tuner with a better response time.

Jdt
Remove the AP base tune and go back to stock tune
make sure you have stock injectors in the p1 and secondary locations
Have a wideband AFR guage hooked up and monitor to make sure you are not too rich/lean
Disconnect the wastegate arm from the actuator (which will prevent boost)
Drive car like normal avoiding full throttle past 5000 rpm ish

You guys are kidding, right?

Oh come on. It's no secret that Jeff is 1) really good at what he does 2) pretty much the only guy that I know who does what he does and 3) has been swamped now for at least three years since I"ve been on this forum. Its no secret, so don't order tunes and then hit the **** and moan button when its not there in what you consider a reasonable amount of time. There's a reason its taking so long, and I doubt it's because because on a beach in folding chair drinking Coronas. If you don't like Jeff's service (and I admit, my patience would probably be pushed), get your turbo/tune someplace else.

I don’t get it; is there only one F-ing RX8 tunner in the world? No disrespect to MazdaManiac but there has to be someone else people can turn too. Or better yet, learn to tune your car your self’s.

Go for it. They end up calling Mazdamaniac when they can't figure out the AP anyway all while charging you hundreds of dollars more and risking your motor in the process.

All I'm saying is that if people don't want to wait on Mazdamaniac's tune then let them go learn them self's.
