Hmm...

I just got an e-mail from Google Checkout indicating that I have refunded this transaction. This e-mail looks exactly like the one I was sent when I processed the refund in the first place.
Let's see what this means...

I totally agree this transaction is FUBAR and I appreciate MM for his effort in resolving this but as far as I'm concern I have followed instructions as best as I could.

I bought the USDM model because I was instructed to select the USDM model due to the shipping address being in the United States. I remember asking this in a thread which was removed and what I gathered was there weren't any difference between the USDM models and JDM models.

As for the "click refund" thingi. While English is my third language but based on the email below, I think I'm supposed to get a notification/email (which I never got until I posted in this thread) when MM receives the refund from Cobb:

"The AccessPORT is on it's way back to Cobb. When they process the refund, I will do the same. I will send you an e-mail about the options (since you no longer have an active card on file with Google) once that is completed"

1. The only thing I learnt from this transaction is Google Checkout sucks if you are the buyer. After 90 days, they couldn't be bothered entertaining you. You are at the mercy of the merchant to get a refund and I'm thankful MM is an honest merchant.

2. If the Purchase System allows people to buy with a card but shipped to another person's name at another address. Not the customer's fault if the confusion happens.

3. Cobb is like every other company with the motto "Don't waste resource with just one customer".

- Didn't wanna integrate ROM until I start calling them having bad after-sales customer service.

- Ask me to prove I'm actually a customer that bought the AP before discontinuation date. Fair enough.

- Cobb tells me its hard to integrate the ROM for the RX-8 whereas they are still doing it for other cars worldwide... wtf. Then tells me to get a refund from Jeff instead.

/endrant

I'm just happy I got my money back.

Bough Accessport at 21-04-2010
-Logs mailed to Mazdamaniac on14 Sep 2010
-Comfirm received from MM on 14 Sep 2010 12:18:55
Trezzani,
Thank you for submitting your calibration request! We wanted to let you
know that we have received your submission and all your answers and data
logs look correct. I have forwarded the information to Jeff so he can
create your calibration.
Please keep in mind that all calibrations are worked on in the order they
are received. We will be working as quickly as possible to complete your
calibration but times do vary. As such, we do not currently have the means
to identify how long the process will take. Please do not resubmit your
calibration request as this will only make the process take longer.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email us. Otherwise we
will contact you as soon as your calibration is completed and ready for
download.
Thank you,

Hello Jeff,
i sent my first logs 2 months ago and i'm still wainting for the 1° calibration. I write this e-mail just to know if you already sent it to me or i have to wait more time. How many days should pass beetwen calibrations? it's hard to think i have to wait an year for 5/6 calibrations.
Please let me know asap.

- Iwrote him again to know why he does not answered me on Sat, 4 Dec 2010 12:41
Dear Jeff,
I wrote to you several times to know if there has been some troubles with the e-mail, I'm still waiting for the FIRST map, or is it normal that I sent to you my log on the 14th of September and I haven't received nothing yet?
I also just wrote about rx8club...but I have answered there either!
I would like to know the reason why after many emails I wrote I still don't have the answer...as per me there are many other RX8Tribe.com users.
I think this behavior is not correct and professional, due to the fact that you have enough time to reply here.
I would like a reply, for being reassured, or better for receiving my map.
I hope, in your respons...here

-Jeff answered me via e-mail on Mon, 6 Dec 2010 22:07 after i wrote about this delay on rx8club forumI normally do not respond to these requests, but I will give you the benefit
of the doubt in that there may be some sort of language barrier.
Attached below, you will find a copy of the submission instructions (the
same sort of instructions that you were sent when you purchased the
AccessPORT and subscribed to the service).
Please review these instructions very carefully.
Of significant interest to you should be these items:
1) When sending ANY communication, you MUST include the answers to the
"11 Deadly Questions".
2) When submitting a calibration request, you MUST include a copy of
the calibration that you used for your datalogs.
Failure to comply with the instructions exactly will lead to your submission
being discarded without further notice.
I receive over 100 e-mails a day from various customers. I have no practical
way of memorizing each and every one of you, so omitting this important
information makes it completely impossible for me to track your requests.
Thanks.
- I reply to Jeff on Tue, 7 Dec 2010 13:41
Dear Jeff,
Thank's for your time,
thanks for your time
I add below the 11 deadly questions, ask if there is any problem with my first map (problem with email, etc.), or I can feel comfortable.

- more then 3 months for the first calibration (firt logs sent on 14 september) and i'm still waiting
- more then 1 month for a SIMPLY answer to one of the several e-mails i wrote you (you wrote me 14 days ago asking me to re-send my mail adding the 11 deadly questions)
- more then 2 weeks to receive THE answer to my ONLY question, even after i re-sent to you the e-mail

(WOW Merry Christmas!)
Trezzani,
We apologize for any delays in responding to your emails. We receive dozens
of emails every day from customers with questions and we work as quickly as
possible to respond to them.
Looking through your previous calibration submission there may be an error
with your data logs that would prevent us from creating a proper tune. I
will follow up with Jeff on this issue to get a final answer.

-Hi Jeff,
I'm so sorry about what is happeninig;
Last time you wrote me saying that you had to verify if there were some problems.
Actually it is 21 days that I'm waiting an answer since you wrote me back..
I'm waiting from 14th of September and I feel cheated by you.
Anyway I'd be glad to accept a professional gesture from you as my map or, at this point, have my money back, which I've paid months ago.
Looking forward your news soon
Riccardo Trezzani
No more answers from Jeff!!!
is it possible?
is that correct?
is professional?
Now jeff, when i bougt the Ap you asked me immediately the money, why i have to wait 6 month for just the 1° map (FIRST!)??? How many YEARS you need to complete the calibration service i paid for? 1 calibration = 6 months, 5 calibrations = more then 2 years???? to make money you've got more work than you can handle but this is not a serious attitude towards the buyer. Please (again, i'm so tired to wrote the word PLEASE when is not a pleasure what i need from you, is what i PAID for and it's called JOB) send me in a short time all the calibrations i need to use the AP or refund my money back.
If only there was a European version of the Accesstuner we could try to calibrate our own but Coob provide just the U.S version and obviously has no interest in responding to our requests.
Trezzani Riccardo

If Jeff had sent me the calibrations in a reasonable time you would not have had a "DIFFICULT READ" but after 6 months I think patience reach a limit even for those who do not know English

You weren't scammed. There just seems to be a massive language barrier; i.e. I try to understand your language and you do not.
I've enlisted other Italian forum members to help me explain the problems with your communications, but that doesn't seem to be helping.

I'll spare everyone (and yourself) the usual diatribe of quoted e-mails on this one because there really is no point.

As far as "paid for" goes, I don't charge European customers for the Calibration Service since the EUDM pricing of the AccessPORT is already more than the USDM pricing because of my agreement with Cobb. I offer a discount to European customers who elect NOT to receive the MMCCS.

Jeff,
from your confirmation of receipt (september 2010) to his first mail (november 2010) more then two months have passed, if a user receives his calibrations in an acceptable time i do not think there would be communication problems!
Nobody forces us to read this forum to know that times are so long (Why? because you have more work than you could handle in a short time?), this is why you have a website where you sell the AP and on this website is not written anywhere that we have to wait more than 2 months for the FIRST calibration! (to be correct we subscribe to a service contract for a maximum duration of 6 months)

What I do not understand is why, language problems aside, after more than six months, Riccardo has not received anything yet: he sent you datalogs, he sent you the answers to the "deadly questions", you confirmed the receipt, what else do you need to prepare the first calibration?
It is obvious that after all this time he will write you to ask for explanations, it is rather obvious why it has received nothing yet!
As he rightly asks, if you need more than 6 months for the first calibration, how many months are needed to complete the calibration service? More then 2 years?

It is not necessary to be able to SPEAK/WRITE in english to buy the AP as it is not necessary to be able to SPEAK/WRITE in english to send you the datalogs. He has done both successfully, why there are linguistic misunderstandings now?

I don't live on the forum.
When I get to my desk again, I'll clarify.

But your assumptions are wrong, just so you know.

Jeff
which assumptions do you mean? These are FACTS, not assumptions.
Riccardo is just one of the Italian guys who have waited more then 2 months
for the first calibration (but he's the only one who waited 6 months!!!).
Fortunately these guys are N.A. so they can use the car without problems but
there's someone with turbo installed who waited 3 months for a calibration:
what he should do? dismantle the turbo kit waiting for the service?
Your instructions are simple: once received the confirmation mail there's nothing else to do, just wait the calibration and you know, we waited for months!!!!

Neither us we live on the forum, so how do we contact you? We can not even write e-mail or we will lose the place in the queue, what should we do?

Is it right that for an answer we are forced to write on this forum?

I believe Riccardo needs no further explanations or justifications, but simply the calibration....or should we keep on writing on the forum without coming to an end?

as businesses go up and down for Jeff and Mazdamaniac i am assuming the wait periods in between calibrations will vary. how does the turn around time look for you in march Jeff? and people who have correctly sent their calibration in say December, when can they expect their calibrations?

When you send the right files and logs WITH THE CORRECT PARAMETERS using THE CORRECT CALIBRATION.
I noticed, by the way, that you failed to mention that you didn't even send in your first submission until 6 months AFTER you received your AccessPORT.

EDIT - You know what? I'm just going to do you a favor. I'll "refund" the $99 to you that you didn't have to pay for the Calibration Service and you can get someone else to tune your car.
