Thats a **** poor effort on their behalf.
I would certainly be taking legal action. just looking at the prices he has charged you, i find that its fairly excessive considering that its for work he did not even complete.

$2185.26 right there
WTF?

Damn, I am in the wrong business...time to move into custom 20b rx8 swaps. Here I am scraping by in the recently weakening rx7 engine rebuild business when there are tens of thousands of dollars to be had in storing rx-8 chassis' for a couple years.

The worst part is that you gave him so many chances to redeem himself.
I remember his comments in another thread that halfway through the project you decided to change everything and he had to start from scratch. I hope he doesn't use that defense again.
Also you should seek legal advice on this matter. Did you ever sign a contract?! Did you save email correspondence? Hopefully you have something saved, written or in email, that says pay $$$ and recieve this. Also do you live in the same state as Mazsport? I don't know too much about legal matters, but if its across state lines it could complicate things.
Best of luck.

There are just no words that would accurately describe this at all.
But..........I would caution you all that there are two sides to every story.
It does seem as though the amount of wiggle room is apparently decreasing rapidly.

Parts probably bought through David Jerome/speedforsale/rotaryrebuildstore, who also distribute my engines, but I do not directly know where they go. I dont sell any transmissions nor have I had any FD transmissions in 2 or 3 years, and I only remember building the one engine for a HI customer 3 or 4 years ago. I remember because the shipping was like $600 and that didn't seem to phase him one bit, which was shocking to me.
