And Vice, sorry I didn't get around to calling RP today before you did. Got swamped at work, so thanks for handling that and everything else you've done for this GB.

i have the b&b test mid-pipe + resonator w/ turbo. it's bit too loud for my taste, so i was wondering if this would quieten down my exhaust noise significantly.

are there any sound clips of this w/ or w/o turbo?

would this super-cat last w/ turbo? or would it burn up every year or so?

thanks. $ isn't really the problem, so as soon as i get the answers, i'll be most definitely in.

thanks.

lastly, do u know whether the supercats will last awhile? hopefully at least a few yrs w/ the turbo.

i've heard people breaking the cat membrane w/ the turbo or just melting it shut, and that's why i'm concerned.

i am very interested. i was wondering also, is it limited to around 20 people? if there are a lot more than 20 people could the price be dropped even more? what are the dimensions and weight of the actual box to be shipped?

i would prefer to wait if i could get the most updated version of the product. this means hanger or whatever else. i know most say a hanger isnt necessary but it is nice to be sure that you wont need it rather than thinking what if i need it, then hearing a rattle after you install it.

I cannot answer the Turbo Question off-hand. I will have to ask Chris @ RP. The quality that RP is known for makes me want to say you will have no issues, but the facts are that I do not know if the Turbo will super-heat the Super-Cat! (LOL- I kill Myself... NOT) I wil have an answer from the pros later if that is OK. NgoRX8 may know something more?

Macius8:
As I have not a limit or cut-off date from RP yet, I would say if you wish to participate lets lock you in. I am pretty sure 2 weeks from now they will honor the price if they see your screen name was on the list prior to the GB ending... if it has ended by that time. Worse case scenario is you don't get the discount. Right?

scsi:
When I contacted RP I suggested a minimum of 20 to make it viable for them. When Chris got back to me it was clean and simple... $45 off + shipping. IF in the next few days or so we double that number I may try to negotiate a few beans more off. This would mean that everyone would have to wait a bit longer to have the strength to suggest it. I have mentioned in the past that with these GB's it is not uncommon for about 20% to never follow-through for whatever reason. The AFE Short Shifter GB proved me wrong by a long shot, but we need to make sure that we as the group purchase at least the minimum we promise to. My bargaining powers are only as strong as our groups purchasing abilities and follow-through.
Basically, it is all of us that make these GB's work... NOT ME!!!
I will ask the shipping dimension/weight info for you and reply back.
It is your choice to hold out... I do not think we will do another GB on the RP Sup-Cat anytime soon after it does end. If I may be a wise-guy here... you could just wait for the MazdaSpeed RX-7 too... Any year now that will be coming out!!! Seriously though... I am not a salesman. It is your call.

I would like to let this run till Monday before we try to start to anti-up. So far the results are excellent. If we hit 35-40 people by then I will surely see if RP has the ability to cut the discount even deeper. Margins are defiantly an issue, so please do not get upset if they cannot cut it further.

thanks for the reply and ill be lookin forward to the dimensions. what i meant by waiting though is perhaps the people who really want the newest version could participate in this group buy but their part wont be shipped till it is ready, and whoever wants it now can have what is available? not sure how much more trouble this would be though, which is why im asking. if not, thats okay too. i myself would like the hanger, though most say its uncecessary i think of it like insurance that i wont have problems rather than i probably wont have problems.

Vice, if it is not too much to ask, could you help me check out the shipping cost to Singapore? Thanks a million for the effort.

Toss me on the list - cash in hand. I *might* opt for an add-on resonator @ $80, but that's an after thought right now.

1.) Could you get me rough shipping estimates to Singapore and Hawaii?
-Either that or approximate weight and dimensions of the Cat shipment so our users can calculate shipping to no Continental 48.
I'll have to get back with you on the HI and Singapore quote.

2.) I was questioned if the cat had any known failure issues being used in conjunction with a Turbo Set-up. The concern is a deteriorating cat membrane w/ the turbo or the heat just melting it shut. I am asking you, the pros, if you know of any issues?
We have had two failures with the turbo systems. Both were attributed to damage from running the air:fuel ratio too rich. Any converter can get killed by overheating when too rich.

3.) Have you all givin any thought to a Maximum number of units to be sold or a cut-off date to participate in the Group Buy? So far we are at 20 buyers. I will wait till Friday or Monday to start having them make payments to ya.
The maximum I have parts to fill orders is about 50 units. I'd say we make the max at 40 to be safe. 20 units is fine, but I agree that lets wait until Monday to take payment and fill orders.
Based on this information, unless we have a winfal of more orders in the next few days, I am not sure RP will discount the price any further. If we do fill the list up though, I will at least ask.

It is the newer more open Cat with the Gasket and Bolt kit included. Hangers are not included. It has been noted that they are not needed by RP. They will send a visual workaround reference if by chance you do have an interference issue.

HP has been tested many times. We've seen as much as 15HP improvement and as little as 9HP. About 12HP is what we tell everyone is realistic.
Gas milage if any gained would be minimal at best.
