Blu: this is getting ridiculous!
I have tried to be patient, I have sent you PM's, I have posted on this thread asking you to reply to my PM's, and NOTHING!!
You added my name (Anonymous ) when you updated this thread on 6-3-07 and yet I have heard NOTHING as to the progress of this Group Buy. I have since asked you at least on two different ocassions to refund my money as I have lost all faith in your ability to complete this Group Buy.
Deposit? Deposit for WHAT?! Are you telling me that you put down a deposit SO big for ALL these dampers that you don't have any money left over to refund a few sets?? If so, that's **** poor business management. A purchase order deposit should never be more then 50% of the total purchase so where's the rest of the money ????
I just so happen to have a copy of the Cashier's Check I sent you and it was paid on July 9, 2007.
You're right; at times things do not go as planned but typically in the aftermarket world, people step up and take responsibility for their actions (or lack of) and do what is necessary to remedy the situatoin.
I do not feel I am being unreasonable in my request and I have a feeling I am not the only one here who feels this way.
I am asking that deviate from your prior statement and issue me a refund by the close of business on Friday or I will need to persue other means of recovering my funds.

How many people have ACTUALLY received their dampers?? Please place an update next to your name so we can see where this group buy stands. (since blu isn't saying much)

Blu, I still do not have a refund. Please contact me about a refund within the next few days.
IF you continue to ignore my request then at least have the courtesy to follow my 2nd requst.
If or when you receive my dampers... DO NOT PAINT them. I paid for paint, keep it.

happy birthday blu.
Can you please confirm that you read my post about refund or not painting the dampers. I honestly don't mean to be a bother to you, I just want to make sure that at the end of this GB that I just get what I want. (refund OR unpainted dampers)

Installed pics and some minor quick tips
Installed my painted black ones this morning and all is good. Was mildly concerned what the paint job would look like, but am fully satisfied.
Couple of notes and comments: See the pics as well.
1.) I would recommend assembling the dampers the night before and letting the thread glue(loctite or whatever) have a chance to dry. I did that assembly and then just let them sit in the foam protectors all night.
2.) Don't throw away those foam protectors around the dampers either , as I used them to wedge between the hood and the windshield area just for protection in case I had trouble and got tired of holding one side of the hood with one hand while undoing the bolts for the hood bracket, sliding that bracket in(make sure you put it between the hood and the stock bracket....see pics), and putting the bolts back in. It's a piece of cake, but better safe than sorry.
3.) I was afraid that there would be a pretty big gap from fender to the hood after install, but to my surprise it's really not that bad. You can make some very minor tweaks for alignment after you are done, so you might not want to torque them all the way down on the hood side . See pics, but look at your gap real close even before you start, so you will get a good idea of how much it changes without having to measure it.
4.) Total time for install was less than 20 minutes for sure. Oh........don't forget to take out the stock hood prop bar if you like. Just pry out the black plastic piece on the drivers side like any other plastic retainer.
5.) Digital cameras are great, easy to take a bunch and then just delete!! I know it's a lot of pics between this thread and the next, but everyone likes different angles and pics also help to make a decision on whether to do it or not. Sorry for the lighting, but it was early in the garage this morning.
If I think of anything else, I'll edit this thread, but it's a pretty easy install. Oh.......damn those torque spec's aren't very much!
Already thought of something.......I haven't cut my hood gasket yet, I just unclipped it at the last clip and kinda folded it into the engine bay for now. Might cut it later and am also looking at that piece were the last clip is on the gasket........trying to see if that's what creates the small gap or not. That end of the damper may touch there first??????

2nd set of pics
Make sure you put the bracket inbetween like in photo #1. I know that it's a no brainer, but............you'd be surprised how many won't read the directions!
I know the gap looks big in the 3rd and 4th photos, but it's really not. I'll go out and measure it soon.

I've had mine installed last week and I do agree with your assessment, Mazurfer. Definitely assemble the dampers the night before to let the thread lock set. I don't know about anyone else, but I had a hell of a time trying to find the right size socket for the hood bolts. 13mm was too loose and 12mm didn't fit!. I ended up using the 13mmm socket but being very careful. Overall I am very satisfied. I didn't cut the hood gasket as per the instruction manual. With the hood closed, it does bulge up 1-2mm towards the windshield but I'm sure that is from me not removing the obstruction of the gasket and the damper body. I'm willing to live with that.

Blu: I need to buy you for another favor; lets go back to painting my set if you can.
Looking at Mazsurfer's set, the paint looks great and I'm starting to like the Tein green less and less. I apologize for changing my mind again.
Let me know if this will be an issue,
Jedi
