I'm one of those guys that will probably leave the plastic on forever, especially since I'll probably keep it out of sight.

hehe same here actually. But I kinda wish it wasn't in an enclosure, I opted to get the PCB's black and they look damn sexy.

FYI guys, incase you haven't noticed, tracking numbers can be found on your paypal. ASH8 and SeanP, I have the customs tracking numbers if you guys want them.

Also, I am going to enroll everyone in the bug tracking system I have. I am going to use your paypal email. If you prefer another email, please let me know

LASTLY:

There is already an updated firmware from the shipping firmware. The only change is that the "MIL Reset" text incorrectly reads "Clear CEL (UP)" on the shipped firmware, the new will read "Clear CEL (Down)"

Great news. Really looking forward to receiving this Paimon. Thanks again for all the hard work.

Quick question, I read earlier that stock radios will be in competition with the RXDuino for display space. If the radio is off, I would assume there shouldn't be any issues? The time I really want no competition will be on the track. Thanks.

If the radio is off the RxDuino will have full control of the display. Even with the radio on it the RxDuino should take precidence, but this is something we can tweak.

Remember guys, the hardware is finalized, the software is tweakable. My goal here is to get some feedback from you guys and we can tweak the software as much as we need to. Things like display times, display delays, text, formatting, etc all can be fully configured. For example, I am going to be working closely with SeanP and ASH to tweak the readings and display text for international users (Things like metric instead of english units).

Adding modes is something that is possible too! For example, right now only one "monitor" is displayed (rpm, engine temp, iat, etc etc) in ECU Monitor mode......we can always add another mode that allows you to display two monitors at a time (for example, we can call this mode "Two Monitors" or something that fits on the screen.... we can then have the up and down buttons control the "left" monitor, and then switching to alternate (hold Cancel for 3 seconds) will allow you to control the "right" monitor.

Hope that makes sense

My goal was to make sure that doors are always open to satisfy the needs of the community. I am very excited about this and hope that we can all work together to improve this product and take it to the next level.

I promise that software/firmware updates will always be free!

That was fast, can't get better support than that. I am relatively tech savvy for an operator, but certainly not a designer.

That said, the two monitor thing would be awesome, or even a mode that cycled every couple or three seconds between 2 or 3 parameters, if that is possible.

You rock.

What I really would like to see is alerts. Say if a tire ever dropped below 25psi or some threshold, then it would automatically pop up on the screen. Same for Coolant temperature. We could set it for like 230F or so. Sort of like a warning light but make it adjustable depending on the driver preferences.

thats a very good idea. We can discuss once everyone gets their product and I can confirm that the shipped firmware works for everyone. Then we can do some firmware feature updats

/\ Hey Paimon,

Just a few questions from this Tech dummy (compared to you ).

I know you have probably already included some form of instruction, but I will ask anyway.

Do we just plug and play, or do you want us connecting to the "console" first and to do any settings changes?

C

Edit: Just read your post on Firmware update...'why' did I not get this email in instant updates......?

No need to connect to console first, just plug and play . I have installed the software on each RxDuino before I shipped them out so that people can just plug and play when they get them

Sorry, not sure if this is my Friday sleepies kicking in, but I did not understand this question lol.

So no need to do this then in your post #190. on the 28th.

There is already an updated firmware from the shipping firmware. The only change is that the "MIL Reset" text incorrectly reads "Clear CEL (UP)" on the shipped firmware, the new will read "Clear CEL (Down)"

Nope no need, but I will provide everyone with instructions on how to update the firmware. The only difference between the shipped firmware and the one i mentioned in post 190 is that the text has been fixed on one function.

Just got home and my RxDuino was on the table waiting for me! Going out momentarily to play with it. Thanks Paimon!

1st question though. The thin, flat, 6 wire plug with the USB plug on the other end... I'm guessing that is for software updates. It seems to plug into the box either way...up or down... What is the right way to do it? Will it get messed up if I try to plug it in the wrong way?
