Thanks guys... I'll PM you next Ajax
So, my story continues......... I fought with the PD some more today, and I'll explain more about that later. I was on the way back to the office, and stopped at a red light. As I tried to take off I noticed my tires were just spinning. I pulled into a parking lot to find a huge puddle of oil under my car. It has been towed back to the dealership. WILL MY STORY EVER END???

I hate to say this Slim, but maybe the car has bad Karma. I know you've looked into selling it - has any of this swayed your decision?
Besides, selling the 8 doesn't mean we won't see you anymore. You're one of us. Once a member, always a member.
I don't know. Problem after problem after problem... and you haven't even had it for two years yet.

I'm glad to hear the sergeant is helping to resolve the case. That cop sounds like a complete moron, to get himself in further trouble and not knowing to sh*ts about the law.
Keep us posted on what happens next

FYI...per "someone that I know REALLY well." Supposedly city cops in Texas actually have jurisdiction all over the state, hence the reason that they can continue while involved in a high speed chase even after they have crossed their city lines. They just try to stay within their city lines most of the time. Can you imagine if they had to do that in the Dallas area. They would be handing off every few miles. Not sure how true that tidbit of information is, but the guy I know has a plethra of Texas law info.
Glad the Sargeant is going to resolve that for you. Good for him.

It definitely makes sense that they would have some kind of jurisdiction outside the city limits. Otherwise I could rob a bank, cross the city limit line and be safe... right?
I just have to wait until Sunday to see what they come up with. Special thanks to Ajax... It seems I know quite a bit more about the owner of the car and others that could possibly be living in the same house.

BTW, If you were "injured" in the accident - the offender could face up to one year in jail, up to a $5000 fine, or both...

Actually my back was hurting a little yesterday and Monday, but I'm fine today. I guess we'll see what happens until Monday. I should hear something back on Sunday. Hopefully they will have some good news.

Update: (on the motor issue)
It seems a clip for my quick connect on my oil line is bad. This caused my oil line to come of and lose all oil. Supposedly the motor has been tested and it is ok. I killed it as soon as I saw the oil light come on. They are having the part overnighted and it should be ready tomorrow.

Nope, not really. The Officer got suspended for 3 days, but I'm still with a wrecked bumper. I plan on getting it fixed next week. It will cost about $1000 get get all my paint fixed.

Ok... quick question. I've been very cautious of the oil level in my car since I've owned it, but this is still rediculous. 700 miles on the new motor and my oil light came on. I put another quart in it, drove it 800 miles. I got in my car just now and the oil light is on again!!!
How much oil do you guys usually use? I was used to a quart every 1500 miles or so, but this is getting crazy. And the motor is new!

1935 lbs. FTW!
Man, just read through the thread and sorry to hear about the bad luck. I hope you get it all taken care of.
My 05 8 hardly uses any oil at all. I've owned it for right at 1900 miles as of today and I changed the oil at 1750. At that point I hadn't used a drop during the break in period and sine then I changed it and redlined my car a few times and haven't seen any usage. Also i'm getting about 21 mpg combined, 25 mpg highway, maybe my car just think it's a honda or something.

Did they replace the oil metering pump?
If not, I would have them do it. Keep complaining to the dealer until the car is either fixed right or they offer to buy it back.
