***DFW Cruise 3.11.12***

High and mighty I am not sir. Childish, at times yes. You're right though, I don't know you and you don't know me. I'm usually very reserved. I just really want to get out of the house. You see I have two children whose ages don't add up to 3 and some marital issues. And if I came off a bit harsh and rude, I apologize. Not my intention. Just tired of money and weather being reasons or excuses for not going to a meet or cruise. Money is mine. Listen if ya'll don't want to go out in the wet that's fine, I just wanted to go do something. I'd still like to go, if I'm still welcome and if the rain let's up. It's up to ya'll though. I don't want to be somewhere with people who don't want me there.

Yes am fully aware of the different handling characteristics between a speed and Rx8. I have all-wheel-drive, you don't. Mine weighs over 3300lbs, yours just over 3100lbs. Mine understeers like a snow plow, yours oversteers like a sports car should. But let me ask you this. When it rains on race day do they cancel the race? No. They use different tires, change the way they drive, steer less with the right pedal and more with middle one, use more caution, and more importantly they know there car. The is Texas and bad weather is pretty bad here. But if you just hang up the keys at any sign of anything other than dry weather than what's the point in having the car. Every car has its weather detriments but it's how well you know your car and can drive according to the conditions.
Hey if you don't want to drive in the rain. Fine stay at home and office the road. More room for us how can actually enjoy the wet and not have to worry about scared drivers "daring" the conditions.
Just my opinion though. What I know I just drive a Mazda, like you, just trying to hang out with other Mazdas, like you.

I personally know these people and how they drive...I also know which roads they use...I trust them fully, no question about that.
I also know that the typical driving style of a cruise is completely dangerous in the rain...There's no way anything good can come out of it.
It's not about being afraid, it's about being smart...When it rains, I will occasionally find an empty lot and enjoy time there...But there's no way I would on a cruise.
Let me ask you this...When I say cruise, what do you think?...Describe how you picture it...For example...Style of roads, speed, etc...This may be a good place to start.
We all have personal issues...Hell, I spend 3 hours a day commuting to and from work...By the time I get home, I only have to prepare for the next day...I'm anxious to get out on the weekends...I'm sure you can tell by the weekly and monthly meets thread that you contacted me about...I don't take it out on people though...It's the life I chose...There's no use making enemies here with the people you're wanting to hang out with.

Again I apologize for my previous comments and the aggravated nature in which they were presented. I meant no disrespect even though that's how it came off. I don't know how you all drive and how well you all drive together but it's hard for someone else to find out if you aren't willing to give them a chance. I'd like to see ya'lls driving style one day if you'd let me. I'm sure could learn a few things.

Yes, you will learn plenty of things...Anywhere from driving techniques, your limits, and who you choose to drive behind and why.
My first cruise with the group was at last year's state meet...There are moments you think you're going to die...lol...But at that point, I had never driven my car that hard before, so I didn't know my limits with the 8...I learned very quickly...Also, I felt more comfortable driving behind RileyCraven because he and I were both stock at the time, and what he could pull off without dying, I could too...Probably not the best thought process, but at those speeds on hills you can easily fly off of, you don't have much time to dig deep for the best solution...I went with what made enough sense.

I understand what you're saying. I've been to the limit in my current car and previous ones too. I'd like to think I know limits of my car on all roads and conditions but haven't pushed it quite that hard on some. But I know the general limits. 3 hours driving to and from work has to suck, just saying. I drive less than 4 miles one way. Not the best job but I'm just glad to have one finally.

Well, with all of that behind us. I am still up for a meet or whatever. Wife is heading to austin to visit some cousins etc and she planned this trip specifically so I could have the house to myself and play a new game that just came out. So just name a time and place and I'm there. (Starbucks was fine etc)

This cruise is tomorrow, right?
If so, it's supposed to not be raining for a few hours tomorrow afternoon. Supposed being the key word. If ya'll went an or so after it stopped, the roads should be dry enough to have a good time.
Just throwing that out there.

This thread is Lulz. I see both sides. I don't mind rain, but we don't have a race car with a variety of tires.
At anyrate I'm thinking this cruise won't happen... I think a meet will take place instead
