2010 Hallett Motor Racing Circuit -- High Speed Touring

Great meeting you guys this past weekend. It was a lot of fun. I definitely like Counter-clockwise better than clock-wise. Clock-wise is a little harder for momentum cars. At least turn two and the hill that follows really kills us with the lack of torque.
I saw you guys dart off when it started to rain. You should have stayed! It was a lot of fun in the rain. I learned a lot -- granted i almost understeered myself off turn 7
I think my next event is going to be the June 5th all HST day. Seven sessions and three run groups. Sounds like a lot of fun. It will be great having all street cars there too. None of the obnoxious race cars

We're planning on june 5th too, but as far as running in the rain? no no no lol. Did ye see that NSX go into the tire wall? Barb might wanna go in May too, but who knows. She has several car shows she would like to get in on also "more washing and waxing for the pit crew " Hope to cya there!

I might be able to head over there one week, or I hope I can. I would probably go auto cross before I did HST just because it's cheaper. Keep this thread up dated and I'll chime in when events get closer.

I won't be at this upcoming one, getting a new engine right now. I would really like to go to the June 5th race, hopefully I'll have my new engine broken in by that point. It would be my first time to go. How far in advance do you think one needs to email Hallet to reserve a spot? Is there a deposit?

I'd say at least a week in advance. They've been filling up really fast lately. I was going to make a decision this weekend if i could go or not and send in my form early next week if i am going to go.

Great news, I just got a call from Mazda this morning saying my car could possibly be done tonight and I could pick it up tomorrow afternoon! That would be exactly 7 days to call MazdaUSA to get the engine to me picking it up. Amazing! I should be able to have the motor broken in by that time so I just need to sign up. Who all is going?

I don't get a transponder either but I've been tempted to. I'm still learning the ins and outs of how to be fast on this course so i feel like its a bit of a waste. Once i get my GoPro HD (on back order) checking my times on the video playback will be enough to satisfy my curiosity.

I was there Sunday. If I can figure out how to post pics Ill post one up my wife took. I usually run the COMMA events in a full race Talon but couldn't get it put back together in time for this event so decided to run the DD instead. Counter Clockwise is definately my favorite. The bitch is so much more fun when you're CC.
I know you guys said you didn't use the transponder but any idea what laptimes you're running there?
I started another thread about some rear end looseness I was having at the track. Would love any imput anyone might have.
Thanks,

I'm pretty sure i'm running mid to high 1:30's but i could be way off. I'm just basing that off cars i was following/being followed by and their times. I'm pretty confident i'm in the 1:30's i'm just not sure how far in
Give us some more detail on your "looseness" scenario. Are you trail braking? If so are you gradually coming off the brakes as you approach the apex? Are you doing it being smooth?
