Any Austin 8's around?
Whats up everyone,
I just traded in my 03 Mustang GT for an 06 Shinka. She is AT wearas I am use to driving manuals. I have to say it's a pretty cool AT setup with the paddles and responds pretty quick even in D. I have always liked 7's and 8's finally got around to owning one. I'm really enjoying the car, just wish it had more torque. I've been researching Turbo kits and would like to boost if I decide to hang on to this car. Was curious if there are any local people in the Austin area that get together?

The first meet I ever went too was in Austin (because at that time the SA people were lame and never met) a few years ago and I hung out with Canary, Romycha, eviltwinkie, etc. Some of those guys bounced though.

Yeah car is still drivable, we built it to be driven, when I started changingit last year it was still my only car, towards the end I picked up a daily driver so I don't have to worry as much about people hitting it or hail damage etc. I haven't driven it since November though, my rear suspension failed at the show, and I've been going back and forth on how I want t fix it, that and a guy who owes me money was supposed to come through with some parts/labor and never did, I should have it fixed by the end f this month, and it's going to be on tv Sunday too lol Telemundo filmed it and is broadcasting it at 11:30am Sunday. (Ritmo Deportivo is the show)
And fr the record, I'm an Austin guy, and I welcome anyne here no matter what knd of car you drive, as far as contributing goes, next time you pick up a Metra kit to replace your stock radio you can think of me, my car and our shop had a significant role in gettng that to market.

**** man me and Romycha drove for one of the first meets at the shop when we did the coil over install. I remember at that point your car was nice on your first set of rims.

heh yeah, it's slowly evolved over the years, it's actually paid off now so I have a few options, I don't think I'll be getting rid of it any time soon though. Sure is nice not having any car payments, maybe in another year or 2 I'll start something new, guess it all depends on how my finances work out, being out of work for 9 months really put me back a lot, but I'll be caught back up on everything soon enough I've pondered selling it, or trading it in etc but there's really not anything out there I'd rather have, save for a CTS coupe or some kind of classic car (like a 59 caddilac lol)
