Any Suggestions...?

ok...so i'm moving at the end of the month. I'm headed to VA, and it should be a two day drive. My problem...i'm moving my self...So I'm stuck, the person that was going to drive my car, while i drove the Uhaul up there, has backed out. Uhaul says they don't have a trailer that will haul my car. So I'm curious if anyone has any solutions for this, or if someone is interested in spending a weekend driving an 8 up to VA, and then flying back to tx.

Any ideas or help is greatly welcomed.

And...i'm going to try to go to a meet this month before i go, just so i can say goodbye to you guys. Anyway, thanks for any help/advice.

-John

Dude, you should come to my BJs Finale next thursday (july 13th).

and for moving the car. I'm having mine transported to Long Beach before its shipped out. The transport fee was less than driving it there and then flying back. I am using www.autotransport4less.com
I would suggest giving them a call and getting a quote. Tell them i sent em your way

I'd offer, but I've already made that drive twice. Granted, it would be more fun in the 8... there are some hills and mountains in Tennessee that ROCK!

Ditto on what Harry said - why don't you come out next Thursday night? I know many people are making the drive from FW.

I had the same problem with Uhaul not having a trailer that I could tow my Miata with when I moved to Houston. Check with a Penske dealer, I found one with them that allowed you to drive a car with a very low front overhand onto the trailer.

hey liquid, i tried to pm you but it said that you didn't exist??? anyway, my rx8 is a manual but i had used the trailer to tow a miata (also a manual). if this is a trailer, i don't see why it makes a difference since what you have to be concerned about is the angle at which the ramps are set up as so that your front end or back end clears the ramps before your tires and also the angle at the rear of the trailer once your fronts clear and how much clearance you have as your rears come up. since the rx is so low to the ground you may have a problem with the underside of the car hitting on the trailer before your rear tires get up on it. you might try ryder or budget or some other rental company. you will have to find a very low trailer to be able to get your car up on it. good luck to you, hope you can find a way to get your car up there with you.

wierd that it wouldn't let you send me the message. I tried them all, but the minute they hear what car i have, they say nope, can't do it. What drives me nuts is they claim the auto will work fine, just not the manual. The quote from the auto mover came back as just 690, so i may go with that since i really don't want to haul a car behind me in the uhaul.
