Anyone want to install a motor?!? Hopefully my car will be done by then.

By the way, the party is confirmed for that night. I should have a few people from the Plano area over, maybe a couple friends from Arkansas, and hopefully all of you who decide to show up. I'll post an official invitation later, but you all are invited.

I sent 4080 a PM about the box. We'll see. A lot of people are saying 2 10's is overkill for the 8.. you wanna know what's sad? I'm more concerned with throwing off the weight balance of the car than how much bass I have :b If I had only one, it'd be 14+lbs heavier over 1 wheel :b

I have some DPE/Whiteline front swaybar bushings that I had planned to install the next time I went home to Houston because I lack the tools at college (I attend SMU currently).

I'm with fenderlover on the curbrash issue - if someone has a dremmel tool and the right tip they'd like to donate, that'd be awesome.

I have a feeling that I wont be able to attend that day, though. Going to check my calendar.

Fark: I have RA training from 8-5 that day. I guess I'll be seeing you after 5 if this happens.

EDIT: Remembered that I'll also have some clear corners/stealth bulbs to install by then.

clear corners, bulbs, swaybars... we've done those before. Shouldn't take too long at all.
Last time we were there till close to midnight, so around 6pm should be ok.

sorry just saw this. no plans yet, just got both kiddos.

Lets do it. I got tools, dremmels, and what ever else you need.

Just let me know!

Hey ajax, you could do 1 10 inch sub in a 4080 box on one side and then your amp on the other. that would save space and look and sound good. slim only has one 10 and it is plenty.

lol... I have a solobaric (square for those who don't know) 10" and I am adding (2) 10" kicker comp VR subs before the Austin Trip.

The one kicker is definitely more than enough. I had 1 solobaric 10" sub and it was more bass than you would want on a normal music listening basis.

Having one just seems so asymetric though! LOL.

I could just get 2 and turn them down.. crank em when i need to rattle loose some carbon deposits ;b

I also have dremels. Not sure which bit you'd wanna use for curb rash though.

Ajax,
You could wire a remote bass control to the switches by your display dimmer. That way it would be really easy to turn them up for that darn carbon build up. ;-)

I had planned to wire a remote switch up there actually.
There's no way I could actually have a car w/subs and not have remote control over it.. especially since I like to drive thru the garage at work and set off people's car alarms just for the fun of it :b

How much bass do you need? Reading through these posts I was reminded of a thread I read awhile back at Houston-Imports: here

I'm sure there's some room somewhere in the trunk for one or two of these little suckers. Even better would be 1 or 2 eD eu-700's on about 400watts. They sound better than my old 12" Sony Xplod's.

There's a part of me that wants to buy an extra plastic door that bridges the gap between rear seat and trunk, remove the back part and try and fabricate that into a box.

I'm not looking for overwhelming, jaw dropping, *** kicking, car breaking bass. I'm looking for enough to enhance rock, hard rock, and techno.

Yeah you shouldn't need any more than a 7"

I've got two 7s and I'm really pleased. I can beef up some of the songs that weren't recorded with much bass, but I can still listen to those that already have good bass without getting a headache.

The Miata is in dire need of some suspension bits, so I might be in.

BTW, Tiff, I'm so glad I bought that wheel off of you last year. I took a QUARTER sized chunk out of one of mine last week, enough that it had a slow leak.

Swapped that off today, and will try to see if wheels america or similar type place can fix it.
