Anyone in San Antonio have a scanner? (Clear a CEL)
#3
do this procedure should not (I believe) mess with the fuel trim..
1) With the key in the off position, press and hold the odometer reset button and turn the key to on;
Continue to hold the odo button until the odometer reads "TEST" and then release.
2) Turn the key to off and repeat step one.
should clear CEL....

Thank you.
Long story short.......I called the dealer for the price on a gas cap ($19.92)
Instead of a cheapo replacement cap from Autozone, in case we still have the car 10-20 years from now it will be better to have as much as possible OEM parts.
So I figured long as I am at the dealer (North Park Mazda), I'm due for an oil change. I called them back, got an oil change appointment, and asked if they could clear the CEL, without doing a full diagnosis. The tech agreed.
So.......CEL is gone, has not come back on with about 3 small trips around town since.
Hopefully the %#$#@! thing stays off with the new cap.
Thanks anyway.
