Apex Driving Academy in DFW

Anyone interested in going out there? I know after this past weekend, I'd love to get some formal instruction and be able to really learn to drive the 8. Most of their events, you drive your own car.

http://www.apexdrivingacademy.com/

If we can get 10 people to register for an event, we can get a 10% club discount. Here's some pricing info:

BYOC(Bring Your Own Car) Event Pricing:
-Novice Group - $210
-Intermediate Group - $210
-Advanced Group - $175
-Helmet Rental - $10

Looking at the schedule, it looks to be full for the one this weekend, but they do plan on having a BYOC event in June and then start up again in September. I bet if we could all agree on a Saturday in September, they would schedule it for that weekend so we could make it out. Plus, September would give everyone enough time to save some cash to pay for it.

I think we would all be classified as "novice" since we haven't done any events (with the exception of Scott & Adam), so I would plan on the $210 plus helmet rental if you don't have one.

If you're interested and we can agree on a date in September, I'll give them a call and see what I can find out.

-- UPDATE --

Check out this video from Riley Craven. He went out for a session on June 6th and seemed to really enjoy it!

Brandon and I were talking and thinking about doing another big event in sept or October time frame, quad state meet or another Texas 8 meet. Just something to think about.

Do it in October...so we can go to driving school in September. Then just tear it up!

Am fully ok with that idea, I kinda wanted it to be in the same time frame as last years to be honest. With that being said cost might be an issue for some with meets back to back which is why I mentioned it.

Thumbs up Or another option instead of track time

Go to a local SCCA auttocross and run as your own group, cost is about $20 for non members. They are once a month March-Nov in the DFW area. You get about 4 -5 shots at turning in your fastest time and they have loaner helmets. Go to www.texasscca.org for the next date and time (always on Sundays)and theres also a MySpace page with information
MySpace/Texasregionscca.
For track time go to the Motorsports Ranch Cresson or Eagles Canyon Raceway north of Decater, both have websites and look for whats known as DE, Drivers Expierence
