Big thanks again to those who came out to the meeting..
While the crowd size was rather unimpressive it was of great quality.
Overall a great meeting that allowed for some good conversation.
See everyone at the picnic July 9th.
and remember no Tuesday meetings until September!!!

[Houston] RX- Club of Houston - September Meeting - 9/10/2005
Well everyone it has been a while since we have all gotten together, but as fate would have it the regularly scheduled "Tuesday" meeting is once again not destined to occur. Between the Labor Day holiday on the 5th and many of us providing safe harbor for our family and friends from Louisiana and Mississippi the timing is just not right.
Therefore the next meeting to held will occur on Saturday, September 10th 2005. This should allow for a few days of recovery from the long Labor Day weekend as well as give those houseguests a few extra days to adjust.
Final location will be announced soon (pending details), we are working on something a little different for this meeting. This will be a late afternoon meeting and hopefully will offer some photogenic scenery for some great photo opportunities as well as a some great food for dinner.
Reminder: Two major events are just around the corner. The Quad-State BBQ to be held in Dallas on September 24th (visit the forum for details) and Sevenstock 8 is just over a month away! If you have not made plans to go to one or both of these events it is not too late.

Event Details
Where: Monument Inn and San Jacinto Battleground (Just 20 miles East of Downtown Houston)
Date: Saturday, September 10th 2005
Time: 3:30 PM until ??? PM
Photoshoot: 3:30 PM in front of the San Jacinto Monument
Meeting/Dinner: 5:15 PM at the Monument Inn.
- We would like to get the whole group together for a big photoshoot down at the battleground. With various options of the bay bridge in the distance or the majestic San Jacinto monument in the background this is sure to be a great way to the end summer and welcome in the cooler fall weather… yeah, ok so it will still be in the 90s for 2 more months who am I kidding?!
- After the photo session we will all head over to the Monument Inn for dinner. Dinner runs anywhere from 6 bucks for light fare (sandwich/chicken basket/etc) to around $20 for an all-u-can eat seafood extravaganza!
- Please note: The Monument Inn can get VERY busy, however they are pleased to have us out and are looking forward to having us. I am asking for serious RSVP's only from those who are coming. Our reservation is for 5:30 PM so please be on-time.
- After dinner we will have a chance for some waterside photos and hood popping in the parking lot. No "official" plans are made for after dinner, however I am open to suggestions.
- If you need assistance with directions getting to either of the locations please let me know when you RSVP.
Thanks,
Keith

Go Texas Longhorns!
put me down.
I suggest we also get a donation drive going for the meet for the Hurricane victims, in the same fashion as our thanksgiving and christmas ones.
We should have a good idea by then what the red cross needs the most, past the usual money, diapers, food, clothing etc...
Any other ideas are welcome, but I think being in Houston, we need to step up.
Keith, thoughts?

I will definitely be there for dinner.
About a month ago I had a Pro-logic II system put in my yellow 8 and would love to show it off. Its a very impressive install; great tonal balance with excellent up-front imagestaging.
I will try and make it to the monument as well.

Meeting Reminder - PLEASE READ
-------------------------------------
I just wanted to send out a final reminder about the meeting this Saturday at 3:30 PM.
Remember it is VERY important we get an accurate number of attendees to if you are coming please let me know or else you might not have a seat!
If you have emailed me at htxrx7@houston.rr.com you have been accounted for. If you have not emailed me please do so now. Thanks.
Additionally if you are bringing a guest or a group of people please let me know how many as well.
-----------------------------
KATRINA RELIEF EFFORTS:
-----------------------------
I have had many requests regarding Katrina relief efforts and some of you have asked if the club is going to do something to help. At this time we have contacted several different groups and the resounding response is that these groups do not need anymore collections of clothes, food or supplies.
The only thing they need at this point is money. Therefore I feel it if you are interested in doating to the relief efforts for the vicitms of Hurricane Katrina you please visit the Red Cross website at https://give.redcross.org/ and enter a cash donation there.

Do you know how many would be coming? needless to say, I will be making an arrangement here at the office for me to come in at a later time then hopefully I'll get in time; if I do can I call you to make extra sit for me? I think I still have your number on my phone from the last meet in Houston(at bistro long, long time ago), thanks!
