I should have my car by late tomorrow and it should be nice out this weekend so whatever y'all want to do let me know, Saturday I'll be either hanging at the shop or running around with a TON of acura's on a drive. I'll check with Les and Charles tomorrow on the MM shop gig and get their thoughts, I know they're always looking for ways to help out people (especially Rx owners because of me ) and get their name out etc. so if we need a central spot with plenty of space we should be good to go.

im definitely down to help out with the turbo's that sort of thing is exciting to me, im down to help free of charge if les and charles don't mind us using the shop...and randall if they dont need our help we can just run the rc in the lot or demolish the old setup and start on the new one

well it just gets better and better for me, this morning I get a call about the car, apparently the dealership is still having issues and now they're going to have to do a bunch of diagnostics out of warranty which could total up to 530 bucks, shortly after that conversation I go to work...and I got fired today, anyone have a loaded gun I can borrow?

I work in IT, have been since 97, I have several microsoft certs and shitload of experience doing everything from running cat 5 cable in ceilings to designing application envrionments and backup topologies etc etc etc. I hated that job anyway, but man we're so overcrowded with techies here this is really going to nerve wracking finding something else.

Hey, I ran into a very nice RX8 owner today... her car had hail damage. I couldn't remember the name of the shop that I wanted to recommend. I remember now! The Ding Company down in south Austin. Oscar is the owners name. He the one that does demonstration at car club events. He's been doing it for a very long time, and I would trust his work/shop.

Canary, that sucks, man. Hope you got a package. I'm in IT as well. The job market isn't that bad here compared to many parts of the coutry. Try consulting until you land something good. It'll get better soon.

thanks man, that's a bit of a relief to hear, I was actually looking elsewhere anyway even while I still had a job, had 2 offers, one from Dell and another working for Rackspace in San Antonio, unfrotunately the Dell position was phone support (yuck) and the drive to SA every day was too much so I had to pass, who knows though, the place I was at I was pigeon holed, it was a total dead end, so as much as it sucks, I was VERY unhappy there and now I have an opportunity to get a job I like (I hope), the main thing I'm stressed about is my car and paying for a bunch of stuff, for some reason despite my engine blowing again and none of it being my fault, I owe a rental car place 100's of dollars, and now my car is going to have some kind of diag run which is also apparently out of warranty, so something that is COMPLETELY not my fault is going to cost me close to 1000 bucks on top of just losing my job, I have to say, I'm so done with Mazdaq it's not even funny. I'm keeping my car, I'll pay it off etc. but that's it, my next car will NOT be a Mazda unless it's a used 7 or something, period, I'm done, finito, kaput, had it. They tried blaming the problems on my bhr ignition and the intake today, gave me some line about how they shouldn't have warrantied the engine with all the "aftermarket parts" I added, I've made a whopping 3 changes, an intake, an optima yellow top, and switched coils, can someone explain to me how the **** that does anything negative mechanically to a car? can a cold air intake blow an engine? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

God damn dude, Im so sorry. Im sick of dealerships blaming bolt on aftermarket for engine failures. Face it, a CAI does NOT flow that much better than a stock intake. Its not like its all of a sudden allowing huricane size gusts into the engine. And if anything, the ignition is making the engine run better. High output ignitions are 10x better at burning fuel than stock ignitions. My last car, they tried to tell me that my CAI was the reason my supercharger bearings went out. I was like really, thats the card you wanna pull with a car thats had the CAI since it was new, and it now has 30k miles on it. ******* tards.

yeah, these cars have cai pretty much from the factory, only diff with the intake is the filter size and location.

can someone tell me if 900 bucks is too expensive to replace 2 failed injectors? Got a call from the dealership this am and that's the final issue they're having to resolve, my guess is their "diagnostic fee" is included, so I just lost my job, have about 500 bucks in the bank, and need about 1000 to get my car back, I just want to publicly apologize to anyone here or elsewhere I may have wronged, maybe I accidentally killed someone's first born? or was sleep walking and kicked a little girl's puppy? **** man I don't know, but holy crap I've gotten a badluck-beatdown the last week and or so, it's like I'm copping everyone else's bad karma or something...yeesh, ouch.

yeah they called this morning, I don't have the money, not sure how I'm going to get it, but I told them to do whatever since I have to have my car fixed/back/whatever. My resume looks awesome, so after I get back from dropping off the rental (another couple of hundred bucks gone, ******' thanks Mazda)) I'll be putting it out in every place I can think of. I applied at about 4 places so far last night, going for more today.

I found one website that had the inmjectors themselves listed at 200 bucks apiece, think I might call the Burnet road dealership and see if that's accurate.

tomorrow's looking good for getting the car back (hopefully), oem injectors are 261 apiece, something like 520 bucks for 2 so I don't feel so bad now, sucks they went bad, service guy said they were basically dripping fuel, so anyone have any idea how that can effect performance, or can someone explain it to me some simple way? If you have 4 of them and only 2 work then the engine doesn't get enough fuel or? So new engine and 4 working injectors should feel pretty sweet I would guess?

Sorry for your trouble; doesn't inspire confidence or trust.
*Which RBM dealership is this ??
*Should be covered under orig. or last replace. warranty.
*Why injectors in a warranty engine replacement ??
*Old engine is removed & ports easily accessable ??
*Are injectors the only prob. ?? No engine replacement ??
*Get a 2nd opinion FYI from another dealer (Beau @RBNorth, Temple, Waco, New Braunfels), Mazda USA on-line or an indep.shop.
*Call Danny Benzer/Premier Mazda-cost & John/Automotive Specialists-installation.
*Ask to have the factory rep. review the warranty coverage.
*If you survive this latest failure, check the independent warranty advertised on TV perfectly suited to your car; obviously Mazda's warranty or the dealer isn't covering you;
best to be sure which is which.
**Last resort:
Check the Texas Lemon Law for remedies; this MAY or may not be one of the situations of recurring mfgr. problems that caused it's creation.

**OTHER; ride someone's empty seat & get your mind off of it for a little while.
What to do-Apr. Events:
1 Wed. Meeting
11 Sat.Bluebonnets & Airshow-Burnet.
26 Elgin/Meyer's BBQ.

LD.
