I broke one of the MSD wires on the BHR ignition today. One of the clips inside the boot that connects to the coil came apart. Thought it was an easy find fix but have been all over god damn Austin and no one has them. Also lost a grommet for the injectors which had to special ordered from Mazda and will be here Tuesday. So now the top of my engine is completely disassembled and my week off of work was wasted, so now who knows when Ill have time to get to the dyno.

huuuuu, howd you break the msd wire ? did you yank it off the coil ? i leave the wires on and just route the bunch in spot, the wires are cut and crimp to length you may need to ask charles to recrimp it for you.

the way he does it uses a tool and a vice, but i think he then put another connector around to reinforce it from bending

I asked Ray how much a new Lead wire would be. Just waiting for a response. Keep the car. Easy as that. You already have everything you need for it. That way you can say you did the work.

**** man, keep it, unless you're desperate for cash or something. i almost got rid of my car in 04 while going through a horrific marriage, since I kept it I've brought home a "best import car" trophy, a couple of first place, and we're building it to go to SEMA in a few weeks. My car is paid off in December, can you imagine how lame it would have been had I pitched it? I'd still be deep in payments driving something I'm unhappy with wishing I never got rid of my 8, I'd probably be in a Scion or something equally lame...ack..the horror!

man, i think ive fallen in love with this car again. went down spice wood springs, city park, and 2222. reminded me why i bought the car in the first place, the car just communicates so better hen any other car ive driven. i barely used most of the power na. I have a turbo being built for when i am ready for the next step, or when ever mm finishes.

maybe with the ap issues he has run into he will hurry up with my turbo ^_^.

managed to use a quarter tank of gas in only 30 miles >_<

Good form in deciding to keep it. The only thing that makes an RX7 better than an 8 is the engine. I think you would totally regret it if you did it. Then again, Im not a big fan of 7's so I could just be biased.

old spicewood is a hoot, I test drove a 1 series beemer and a lexus is250 on that road a couple of months ago, the is was a bit of a disappointment, the beemer kinda' scary with all that power it had in such a small package, still fun to drive though and that road is crazy fun

funny i test drove a m3 down that way ... still surprised they let me drive that.

So as a present to my self for keeping the car thinking of building another sub to replace the one that is stolen, opinions ?

12" Dayton ho 4 ohm sub, powered by jbl amp, asking zenclosure if they can build me a ported box right now of 1.24cu ft with a port tuned to 30hz.

787 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (1,114 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

Mine isnt in working condition yet. I broke one of the wires during install and Charles is sending me new ones. Plus since I am turbo, I need to get the dwell reset before I can really notice anything about the ignition so Ill take care of that when I get the car tuned at PTP. But since I have practically changed everything on the car except the rotors, I wont really be able to tell how well the ignition is working, just that its doing what its supposed too!

Its easy as crap if you take your time. I bought mine from Czar and it didnt come with instructions so it took me about 5 minutes to realize that it mounts to the stock mounting bracket. Other then that, it was cake. Although you do have to lift the car to put the wires on the plugs.

heh i labeled the coils for you to ^_^

u take off the old ones the block of new coils drops on, you plug in, pretty simple, the plate under the stock coils has the order to plug them in, i labeled mine because my memory sucks. i think even at stock dwell that are more powerful then stock.

the coils would be a good maintenance thing, i want to get a short shifter and something to brace the brace cynlinder, like the mazda speed strut bar does

Not sure yet, I'd like to get my other damaged bumper fixed for daily driving duty so the one we just painted for Sema can be used just for show etc. My car lost an airbag (suspension) while we were at Sema, even had to cancel a photoshoot because of it (from boost tuning, french magazine I think) so until I get that fixed I'm kinda' stuck. I've got over 400 pics from Sema on the shop site, including my fancy dancy new interior etc. at http://audiofxaustin.com/gallery2/ma...2_itemId=13675 , got to meet Foose, Barris, Dan Wood from chopcut rebuild, a few West Coast Customs guys and some booth babes etc. Best thing was seeing all the people from all over the world freak out on the car, got a less than favorable mention on cardomain by some lame editor who can't even tell the diff between led and neon but it's all good, at least we got noticed

funky interior, i dont think i could stand having speakers where my dead pedal would be.

thinking my 10in sub is extreme over kill now(i can rattle the interior) and tempting getting rid of it. seems its doing a weird cabin gain to as its extremely loud inside the car but if i open the trunk its barely moving and u dont hear much.

no where as fancy as yours heh

actually if it's louder with the trunk closed that means you did it right, it should never be louder with it open. Those kick panels on the floor really aren't that bad, I never used the dead pedal anyway, plus I'm only like 5 6-7' if that so it's not like I have to have room for long *** legs or anything, I got used to them after a while and besides, the soundstage we're getting up front is breathtaking and it's due almost entirely to the way those were placed/designed etc., the 8's in the doors help quite a bit too

hmmmm this car is getting on my nerves now... taking it for a fun drive then the car starts acting weird, throttle response was delayed, suddenly there was alot of engine braking off gas, high rpm surges instead of being stable like it used to. ~_~
