Can we have white side marker lights??
I was wondering if any Texas 8's have white lights on there side marker lights? I found this article in the Texas Transportation code and it seems like its legal:
547.332. OTHER LAMPS PERMITTED. A motor vehicle may be
equipped with:
(1) not more than two side cowl or fender lamps that
emit an amber or white light without glare;
(2) not more than two running board courtesy lamps,
one on each side of the vehicle, that emit an amber or white light
without glare
I have a black 8 and i want to get the clear side marker sets and replace the amber with LED lights. below is the setup i want, hope its legal.

As my old football coach would say, "It's only illegal if you get caught." Not saying that running with whites is illegal though.
Me, on the other hand, I've got white lights... it's the tint that's another story, hehe.

according to the traffic law book, the side markers have to be amber..... but I have never really seen it enforced unless you have some crazy color like green, blue or red

never had problem with mine, the one in your pic is quite ugly and does not look like part of the car at all, check out the japanese oem ones. i got it from one of the vendors on this site. and it works great. (i just used stock bulb, which is faint white light, never had trouble with it, my no front licence plate got noted a couple times, but never ticketed)

ive been having great luck with superbrightleds.com if you want to wait though im compiling a list of which bulbs fit where at the greatest brightness. Currently I have the dome light, map lights, door lights, and glove box lights figured out. Next is going to be parking, and footwell so that we have a DIY instead of purchasing a kit.

i still have some work to do. As far as I can tell most of the kits are built off old bulbs. The new 194 led replacements come in a variance of sizes and power levels now. I'm having to measure out each sockets amount of space then pick out the bulbs. So far I have figured out the dome light, map lights, door lights, glove blox, the individual leds in the door and ignition key, and side markers.

I've read a lot of different opinions about this. I read when I googled, that some states allow white turn signals/markers, but in the back you need amber/red.

I did end up getting the white corner lights that was on my original pic from the first post. I've been stopped multiple times but a-hole cops tried to find any little thing wrong with my car....and they never said anything about my lights. So it seems to be all legal
