Is this an open event or just for 8s? Also is there a registration fee?

 

Hey everyone,

This event is an open event for anyone and everyone, and we typically have an event each month. Our current site is the State Police Training Facility located in Zachary, Louisiana and it's one of the best sites for autocross in the state - not a lightpole, pothole, or broken piece of pavement and it's a nice, open, big piece of asphalt that people all the way from Florida and Arkansas drive in to compete on. We also have an air conditioned building used for registration and drivers meetings with clean air conditioned bathrooms - I emphasize all of this because I compete all over the state and I've used a port-o-potty or two in my day. We try to squeeze as many runs as we can into a day depending on the turnout, but we guarantee at least 4 (usually 5 or 6 though, sometimes with fun runs afterwards). We have novice classes for newcomers, and I'm glad to ride along and give pointers to anyone and we have many others that can do so as well. We have some nationally competitive guys in our club, but mostly it's made up of guys like me who just like to have fun.

I'm just now hearing of EVOLV - New Orleans and we'd love to have all of you come out. If you like I can also have your group run in it's own class against only EVOLV members.

Note of Importance - When you turn on West Irene watch your speed as this is a State Police facility with an active prison (and don't pick up hitch hikers in orange jump suits )

fyi evolv new orleans has gone from rotary only to all mazdas. our temp site is evolv.webs.com and will change to evolvnola.com very soon. all mazdas are welcome to join and we do something at least once a month be it track events to bbq's almost anything goes
