Chewy ***** meet on 9/22/2007
Hey people, I know that it is really short notice and all, but there is a great meet coming up this Saturday night. Thought that it would be a great thing to have a strong Mazda presence at the meet. Any and all are welcome to go just abide by the rules. You'll find them out and any other info on the link below.

I made it down to this meet. It was lack luster to say the least. Not a single 8 in the whole mix to boot. I didnt mind that as much as seeing that 85% of the cars there were broke *** civics, cavaliers and other rides that had no business being on display. Now, there WERE some impressive rides there (around 15-20), but they were too few and far between for my taste. I left at like 10:30'ish. I heard it was broke up early due to these kids revving up there POS's and sqealing out of the parking lot. The DJ was awesome, the area was prime, but the overwhelming prescence of young "ricers" made it tuff to enjoy. I will give a civic love if it is worthy, but these werent.
I wont be going back to that meet.

i encourage as many people who see this thread not to go to these meets. You will not find a single rx8 there and tons of ricers who will possibly insult you for having such a car. It's better if we stick to our own kind with the weekly meets at hooters in the north side

I dont believe "insulted" is the right word choice. Maybe "Hate" on us/our cars is more like it. I had a ton of these ricers coming by my ride and kind of putting their heads down more in a shameful manner than an insulting manner. You can tell inside they like the car but shun it due to their inability to afford and mod a car in its class...and due to their large numbers at the meet, they have the luxury of being a bit territorial.
I DID get many compliments, mostly by the older (21 and up) crowd who knew what they were looking at. But, i kind of felt like i was "slumming it".
Im sorry but in my mind, other than the S2000, i could care less to see any other Honda at a car meet, mainly for this reason. Its a shame because it takes away from those guys who actually have nice Hondas's who spend there time and $ and get lumped into that ricer category.
We need a "doorman" at the entrance of the place, kinda like the old school Studio 54 club, picking cars like, "Yep...nope....your good....sorry....go ahead" LOL, yeah right.

I live a mile away from Chewy *****. What a terrible name! Yes I know it refers to Tapioca.
I don't go to any of the local rice boy meets. Off of Champions Forest and Spring Cypress there is a classic car show every Saturday and I'll occasionally head over there. Some nice hot rods but no attitude. That's what makes a show fun. It's really the people and not the cars that make something worth attending. If the people suck, the show does too. The rice and ridiculous meets don't have quality people and that outshines the fact that they don't really have many quality cars there anyways. I'll stick to local rotary meets even if it does mean I show up in a Honda!

Well, sorry to dissapoint. It was actually my first time going to the meet as well. Jones75254 you have a pristine ride. I totally understand why you felt the way that you did about the lil' ones. But you did leave a little bit too soon. An STI showed up that was emaculate. She was the one that was featured in Modified Mag a while back. The other two cars that she showed up with weren't that bad either.
Esentially I was trying to get more of a Mazda grouping together so people like me don't feel like bastard children. As you said, it was a honda/subaru meet.
On Oct. 14th, there is some kind of drift showcase - or something - at HMP. Don't know if you all would be interested but I will get the info and post it. Thanks for the feedback.
