Cobb AP

I have a Cobb AP on the way (MM's version...which is better...for lots of reasons) and I don't mind if anyone wants to check it out.

Due to laziness...Austin area...unless I travel...but whatever...

I'm getting one too. Waco area. But I don't want anyone to check it out. Just kidding. Eviltwinkie, I'm new to this, so if you figure out some stuff please let me know. I love the new avatar too btw.

Neg...ETA wends...Sorry...but if your coming back let me know and I'll be happy to show it to you.

It's the MM version...so I can explain the maps and whatnot as well...

Just noticed that the RX7store.net has these in stock now... i am thinkin about going this route instead of the emanage since i am n/a and plannin on staying that way. Would you say they are a safe bet for purchasing an AP.

Why would you choose them over Mazdamaniac? I know MM includes maps for almost every configuration of 8, but what incentive does rx7store have?

I'd do the MM version...you'll get much more support and better maps if you are intending to stay N/A.

The AP is simply one component out of an FI solution for me. First AP...then snail...

Does your AP have the ability to download/load the latest mazda flash MSP16? If so, any chance we can meet up? I don't want to go to the dealership and get raped since I'm out of warranty.

I think the AP can only work on one car at a time, so it couldn't flash your car with anything and still be able to work on our own cars. Sorry

I have had Cobb AP on my 04 STi for over 44K and love it.

The APs are married to cars so you can only use it on one car.

No worries. Will you be able to use your AP that you have now if you go turbo?

That's the idea...to use the AP for engine manglement...I specifically purchased it from MM for the reason that I intend on using that wonderful snail of his...

I'm simply waiting at this point for him and Charles to finish getting the remaining components of the plumbing sorted out.

Good progress. That's great twink... so, you going to have the strongest RX8 in central texas when you're all done? In all of Texas?

Err...probably publicly known about...although considering the snail, and the transmission change soon...it might be the quickest street legal one...

Just redid my alignment for straight line drag...and mounted 275/35 KDW2's all the way around...

After my plug change and a quick tune up...I think it might be time to make a "measured test of acceleration" in N/A trim...

Car is running as hot and lean as I think its safe to go...and 1-3rd gears punk 90% of everything its come across...

4th gear...is the suck...

Mazsport 5-speed to the rescue...with better gearing, I'll be able to put the snail under load for longer faster...

Till then, its the snail + 6-speed crapbox...

That might be the thing to do...I was going to do it at my house and just have a cook out...but depending on how many people want to check it out...we might just do that...

I was planning on doing the install myself, and maybe asking Avenger** for the assist, but if Jeff or Ray want to come down the more the merrier...

Eventually Fred would catch wind of the shenanigans and would also probably show up...

**At his house warming party I "pantsed" him while he was rawking hard on rock band...he owes me an equally humiliating shenanigan...I worry that I'll get pantsed while stuck under my car...so if you plan on coming...be aware that you might see my pastey butt...
