Complete southern RX8 Meet?
So I was wondering if this had even been proposed, basically we have a vote on the city / state that its going to be hosted in and then set a date. I know there are a bunch of local clubs around, but have y'all every got together?
Hit me up with some feedback, and let me know what y'all think as far as city / state!

I helped to plan the Texas state meet two years running, and we were thinking about doing a quad state meet in Ark. The problem is that I have never been there and that makes planning hard. I have a basic route outline, but I dont know lodging /route timing (where to stop for breaks and where to eat etc)
Edit: check out the site under my name for a video of the state meet this year

We should have a meet in sayyy.. prolly texas, like Houston or something, maybe right out side of it.
But one in Arkansas wouldn't be bad at all, that's quite a bit of driving for alot of the members, but would be fun as hell

The state meet in texas was held in kerrvile and was about a 5 hour drive for us. so all things considered, it wouldnt be much diff from the norm (and lets face it, the south texas guys have had it easy the last two years :P )
Edit: if we did it anywhere besides hill country, it would have to be on a track which would require ALOT of upfront costs...

And oddly enough, the lowest turnout from the areas closest.

Hey jus cause we were blessed enough to have these wonderful hills in our backyards, doesn't mean we should be punished haha. I'm up for a lil road trip though, how many hours is it to ark?

What I really think we should do is have a Track event. Maybe get some big sponsors like official Mazda Corporate and whoever. What is the most renown track in the south? I'd like to run Driveway Austin but I'm sure ya'll know of something good maybe in Dallas or Houston.

Without sponsers the cost of having members pay for at track day (I'm betting 200easy) plus lodging and everything else associated with a trip then things can snowball very quickly.

Is that a bike rack?

How do you propose to pay for said track? Meets in the past havent been big enough to get the kind of sponsor/sponsers we'd need for a track day, and even proposing that we could, the economy is still in the toilet right now. We were lucky to get a zoom zoom box from Mazda for the state meet!

OK guys, So I didnt want to be a negative nancy so I've been reaching out to people on this.
I've contacted Mazda and they basically asked me for a dollar amount, which of course I have no clue on since there isnt really even a venue yet. I'm still looking into things to try and make something happen.
If anyone wants to help please add to this thread.

Do you guys think you would go to an event in OK city, OK? Apparently there was a track there that might be very cost effective (like 20 dollars for the day, and maybe free if I get mazda on this) I've gotten in touch with one of the organizers and seeing what I can piece together.
