Dallas resident, wanting an RX8
Hey all, how is everyone doing? I'm thinking of buying an 8 for my next car, but am not sure yet. Can anyone give me some advice on which dealership to buy at in or around Dallas? I live in North Dallas right next to Addison. Currently I drive an 04 Audi S4 who's lease is up soon. The Audi is ridiculously awesome, no complaints, accept one. It has a fat ***. The car weighs about 4000 pounds. I'm looking at a car specifically for handling and fun to drive. Do you think the RX8 is for me?
I've done a ton of research on the car, and the majority of reviews/consumer reviews seem to say that it still hasn't worked out its kinks. DO you recommend waiting on the 06? Is the gas mileage and oil problem as bad in Dallas as it seems it is everywhere else? What have been general problems for Dallas owners?
THe G35 coupe is a very close second, but I don't want that fat butt again. It really is a downer in the understeer department. Any thoughts, info would be great. I'd also like to get to know some of you on here!

Kev,
Check out our bi-weekly addison meets at BJ's Brewhouse.
Someone will usually post up a reminder in this forum, as I'm not sure how the schedule is going to fare over the holidays.
As far as buying an 8 locally, I had great luck dealing with David Preston, the internet manager at Classic Mazda of Denton.
You can hit him up at sales@classicofdenton.com
or
Classic Mazda of Denton
Internet Sales Department
940.498.9811 Direct
940.395.6311 Mobile
For service after the sale, I'd suggest Town North Mazda in Richardson.
HTH,
Rachel

Welcome Kev!!
I worked with Wayne, the internet sales manager for Freeman Mazda in Irving. I know, not exactly close to Addison, but he was fantastic to work with. I've also had great success in their service department.
Like Rachel mentioned, checking out one of the BJ's meets would be very beneficial. We've all done different things to our cars and have different packages allowing you to see first hand what you're choices are. And you'd get to meet us!!

Haha that would be awesome, and you'd get to check out my S4
. Thanks for all of the advice and such. I'm thinking of waiting for the '06's to make sure they worked out all of the kinks. I find it strangely odd that the 06's aren't out yet.
What about gas mileage? You two ladies getting at least respectable numbers?

Go to the Web Site upsyourmileageinternational.com and see the video there done by Johnny rutherford, Three time "Indy" winner and co-developer of theEnviroMax Plus Fuel Catalyst.
Roughly, It will:
1. Up to 35% incrase in gas mileage.
2. Increase Power.
3. Burn the fuel at a lowe temperature nas produce less carbon.
4. Oil change life up to 100% longer.
5. Engine life up to 50%+ longer.
6. Will not harm any internal combustion engine.
Some Mazda Rx8 cars have experienced apex seal problems that have required in warranty replacement, if the problem occurs under warranty. I have discussd this with the service manager of my local Mazda dealer. Therefore I am knowledgable concerning this matter. In fact a remedy was put forth and sent to the higher up brains in Mazda. They have not responded.
You will have a happier running cleaner engine with the fuel cataqlyst.
Thanks
Dorsey.

Also, with 0 posts, and your first post being an advertisment... your intentions are definetely questionable.

^^^ I'm having those same concerns.... Thanks Dorsey, I appreciate the help. I think I'll wait for other 8 owners to try the fuel catalyst out for me and then I'll consider the purchase.

Whatever you do don't use El Dorado of Mckinney! I know that's farther than you might go anyways but just don't!
Very poor customer appreciation. I didn't buy from them, in fact, two days later I went to the local dealer near my town (Texoma Mazda) and bought my 8. They lost out for being tards so I advise you don't even waste your time!
btw I know a guy who has an s4 that puts down 450hp to all four wheels! Sweet ride! But I know you'll enjoy the rx8 too.

OMG ditto this.
Search my username for my lovely experience with my 10AE miata there.
as far as gas mileage is concerned, I get about 16, but most of my driving is in stop and go down 75. Highway, we're talking more like 20.
I've been in an S4 before. very nice!
Dmorales, what color is your 8? I've probably seen you a couple of times, as my folks live in sherman and we're there on a pretty regular basis.

It's a pretty small town so I pretty got the 8's mapped out, or at least as closesly as possible.

Hehe yeah the S4 is a bad bad monster. It just doesn't handle like a true sports car though. I have Michelin Pilot Sports on it too. With the recent snow stuff, my car blew by people like a champ. However, its big and fat. I want a car that has the amount of weight as The New Guy. I also haven't gotten many looks, which is a crying shame for a sweet *** S4.
